Annoying Gooners

OK, the "kids" excuse is wearing thin. I seem to remember that before our semi-final defeat to them last year, the same "kids" beat...no, scratch that...OBLITERATED a full-strength Liverpool team AT ANFIELD 6-3 in the previous round. So to say that's a weakened team is ludicrous.

5-1, we beat the scum 5-1!!!

my gooner nephew has gone very quiet. before the game I got a text from 'come on you gunners' while singing que sera sera, i phoned him and let him absorb the atmosphere. Not heard from him since!!

I find that just laughing in the face of a gooner when they try the "kids" excuse works just fine.

My cousin is a gooner and he texted me after the game

I thought that was nice myself, they're not all bad, I quite like them really, well I do when we win or when they lose because I can be magnanimous in Victory and they are such a source of quality amusement.

I tell them I am sure that they had an off night and I know they did not really want to win the Carling Cup, after all they've won loads in the past few years have they not (oh that's right they've won a lot of nothing). I tell them I'm sure that they won't really be out of all competitions by March and if they are it's an improvement after all they were out of everything by February last year were they not.

So I say support your local gooner after all if they were not there how would we amuse ourselves?

Arsenal colleague of mine has been making light of the fact that we've released a DVD to commemorate the 5-1 hammering.

I pointed out that Arsenal, too, released a DVD when they beat Inter 5-1, but of course 'that was different' according to him..

Have you ever met an un-annoying Gooner?

Yes. A gooner i know is always the first to slag me to death but on tuesday night he was first on the phone, congratulating us and saying we were awesome.

I couldnt do that if the roles were reversed.
