"He is at Spurs three times a week and his mum has had to take on a part-time cleaning job so that she can afford the £50 per week in petrol it costs her to get him there."

Surely Spurs can lob a few quid in expenses their way, no?

Give it a week or two and there will be posters on here demanding to know why this exciting youngster is not starting for the first team...

Brown envelope for expenses out of the slush fund.

One for the future.

The proper way is to give his mother a well-paid full-time job around the training centre. That way nobody can accuse the club of improper payment, and the mother can keep an eye on him as well.

Aw, his Mum sounds a lovely, down to earth lady.

Good on the club, was reading this week how we let Glenn Hoddle stew for 6 months before contacting him, and he'd all but given up of ever hearing from Spurs aged 11.

Agree they should help her with the petrol money though.
