From article:

Maybe our coach isn't brilliant. Maybe he's nuts.

On a serious note, this article I think gives context to Townsend's exit. If you recall his training ground dust-up was with fitness coach Nathan Gardiner. In retrospect that may be the one person you don't want to fall out with in Poch's set-up. "Gimme a break Nathan, I'm knackered" is probably the last thing Poch wants to hear, and it may well have been something along those lines that did for Andros.
It was in the stadium IIRC and was about warming down properly after being an unused sub

But I take your general point

I worry about these articles. Im a very pessimistic guy, but having supported spurs for 34 years, i dont think my pessimism is misplaced. Seen this time and time again about how we are bigged up like this, and we as fans buy into the bigging up and hence raise our level of expectations, only to come down with a thud in march and april. Seen it before, many times.

A lot of people will say this time its different, that our team is better now, is fitter now etc, but thats just the media doing its job on our mind, plus we forget that we said the same thing last season and the season before last.

Until we are still in the same strong position after playing all the big boys, my pessimism remains.

I hope im wrong. Dear God, please tell me my pessimism is wrong.

Speak for yourself chief, I don't read newspapers and detest the media.

I've been watching Spurs since 1975 and have seen the best and worst in those years. I've never bought into the media hype in all that time, but I'm also one of those who believes this time around, all because of what I have seen rather than read.

There is most definitely a difference to this squad of players in fitness, application and mindset. Whether the amount of games will take their toll remains to be seen, but this team have earned every plaudit they are getting and then some.

One thing that occurs to me, that neither this nor the other excellent article posted in another thread, is that we do seem to have a lot of natural leaders in this group - or, said another way, more 'men' with a positive presence/attitude than in times previously. Maybe that now seems obvious, as we are on a great run, but in Argentina it does seem that football is a man's game, played at this level by men and not boys. So this side reflects MP's home attitudes.

We all underestimate this side, looking for weakness and lack of character. There is none.

Will we win the PL, EL and FA Cup, well thats down to a lot of factors, like staying injury and suspension free in key areas like the spine of the team.

One thing it will not be down to is lack of desire, effort, or luck.
