White Hart Lane side target French wing wizard.

Tottenham have earmarked a move for highly rated Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale according to talkSPORT.
With speculation of a possible exit for the Welsh winger growing on a daily basis it is perhaps not surprising that White Hart Lane boss Andre Villas-Boas would be drawing up a list of players he feels could step in and fill the void that such a sale would undoubtedly create.
The French Under 21 international moved to Real Sociedad as a 14 year old and has steadily rose through the ranks and is now a first team regular and considered one of the hottest prospects in the Spanish top tier.
Griezmann has made over 120 La Liga appearances and his form this term has helped propel his Basque side into the top six and this source states that the youngster would be available for around £8m this summer, leaving a sizable chunk of whatever Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy banks from any potential Bale sale to use to beef up other areas of the squad that could do with improving.

Nice young player ready for the prem with Spurs -- I hope this rumor has legs (not the Bale part of course) (y)

Seems like a decent player but talkSPORT are bullshit peddlers, especially when it comes to Spurs
Indeed, but he's a player I would like to see at WHL and this met the minimum standard to open the thread :bag:

Time will tell as always :ninja: :playful:

He will definitely be inferior to Bale, but is he an upgrade to Lennon; especially is his finishing better?

I think just because his name was mentioned in the La liga thread talkshite have turned this into a transfer rumour.
I don't think he's that good.

He's really looked good last season and this, still pretty young but has shown a lot of quality and he's become a very important player for Sociedad. I hope we buy him although I also hope it doesn't mean we lose Bale. He was primarily a winger but he has evolved and plays am and even at times as a second striker. He's going to become a real quality player imo

I agree and he can play both LW and RW -- solid for 8 mil or less,... plus he's Basque, so he's hard a nails :playful:

Hah! I mentioned him back in Jan. Daaaaayuuuuum I'm good! Would be an excellent signing and just the sort we should be looking at. Young, for a good price and can help the squad/push for a first XI spot immediately and yet with plenty of room for growth and improvement.

cant be any worse than lennon in recent games. this is why we have needed options but every transfer window goes by without upgrading or back up.

The new Isco...?

He seems pretty cheap and the stats look good but (for me) where would this leave Townsend? Anyway, I'd pass on this fella and concentrate on bringing in Min-Son

Must admit I haven't seen much, but from what I've seen he looks a good little player that can give us even more fluidity from the wings and through the middle.

He had a good last season but has struggled this season and's not even a regular starter for his team now.

had him in FIFA 10 as my personal wingman because you know I was a stud striker. He was pretty good. Sign him up.

Quality player but I'm sure he's got a buyout clause around £24m and has previously spurned the chance to come to the prem league.

30 mill euros, but apparently that's a figure they put in all their player contracts, I don't recall a PL club making any definite offers but AM had a 7 mill euro bid and a couple of players rejected some time back. I think he has been happy to develop at Sociedad and iirc he was there from quite a young age, but he has really stepped up the last couple of seasons, has become a regular starter and I would imagine he would be thinking about the options available to him going forward

No he isn't he's started 20 La Liga games and came on as sub 2 times out of 25 games, allowing he missed three games in November with a hammy injury it hardly makes him "not even a regular starter", quite the contrary he's a key player for them

Well if Bale's going to keep up his evolution into a central attacking midfielder, we're going to need another winger or two.
