Maybe he doesn't personally feel the need for a long contract, but it would give a lot of confidence and reassurance to everybody else if he signed up. and that would be a big boost going into an important season.

I'd like him to sign an extension but a long contract is a double edged sword.

Yes, it ties him down and shows commitment.

But also means an enormous payout if it all goes south. Which it tends to do with all managers, sooner or later.

We are assuming Levy has changed and every transfer window we will have some cash injection and bring in quality?

getting both of them to sign extensions will really be the icing on the cake for a fantastic summer transfer window.
