Matt Doherty is set to miss the rest of Tottenham's season following the knee injury he suffered against Aston Villa on Saturday. The 30-year-old Irishman has become a key player in recent weeks for Antonio Conte, with two goals and two assists in five matches as Spurs battle for fourth place in the Premier League.

What a shame for Doherty. After such a prolonged poor start with us he'd suddenly become integral to our recent good run.

It is ridiculous that Cash get away with no punishment for that challenge. The recklessness and violence of Villa’s play was a disgrace.

If anything, it was the officiating that was a disgrace. Villa tried (and failed) to kick us off the pitch. The Ref wouldn't have let them do it at WHL which is just weak officiating. Young, imo, should have got a straight red card for a brutal tackle on Kane which fortunately didn't cause major damage.

They were definitely overly physical. That Doherty tackle was just completely unnecessary. Shame for him.

I know some people were saying it was just a professional foul but it was much more than that, to completely take the legs of a play running at full speed and there was forceful too. a pull on the shirt is what i call a professional foul but taking out a player with no intention of playing the ball should sometimes be more than just a yellow.

That was fucking obvious the moment that dirty bastard took him out, it was dirty it was dangerous and it was intentional. The only good fortune is that much as they tried they failed to end any of our other players' season.

It wasn’t the kicking it was the potential leg breakers
