I bought a subscription last season with direct debit and without wanting to, bought one this season as well

If I had the £35 to spare, I really wouldn't mind because I actually used it a fair bit last season. BUT, I don't and I could really do with some of that money back.

So, if any of you out there were thinking of getting it I'd sell it for £30 or the highest offer within reason. Can pay me by paypal, I'll give you the username and password and you can change the password so I can't get on it anymore.

Any takers?

I'm willing to listen to offers...

Remember you won't get it cheaper than £34.99 for the year anywhere else. And the subscription started yesterday, so there's still 364 days left of it.

I think season ticket holders get 3 months free, so you might find a taker after that time if not now?

same thing happened to me last season. I would nt expect them to be such cheats.

It's really quite disgusting. Every other service I've paid for by direct debit before has at least billed me before they take my money. Why should this be any different?

I did ask them to cancel it and for my money back and they very kindly agreed to cancel it for next year, which really doesn't help me :bang:

Very sneaky indeed. Complaint to the club?

The point is they don't even email you to say 'we will be taking this money from your account...' as anyone else would ie. phone bill, water gas electricity bill. By the time you've realised you've paid for it again- it's too late.

I'm not saying I didn't agree to pay the money, I'm saying any other company would have reminded me that I need to pay it before I pay it- thereby giving me the oppurtunity to change my mind.

Here's what you get:
  • Exclusive Player & Manager Interviews
  • Behind the Scenes Features
  • Live Commentary & Stats
  • Searchable Video Archive
  • Complete Match Live Console
  • Reserve & Youth Team Action

I mostly used it for highlights last year - first team, reserves and matches over the last few seasons.

Sure I did. The thing is that you would not even know that the subscription is automatically renewable. When i subscribed I just wanted it for one season. It must be written in small fonts somewhere.
When I complained the answer was somewhat sarcastic. I was disgusted. And seeing that their are othr ppl feeling they are being cheated than maybe I m not the stupid one. It s disgusting that they use such marketing techniques.

I was duped into the same awkward situation last year. I took a months trial for £3.99 and I wasn't at all impressed with the service provided.I had no intention to renew when the month was up and gave it no more thought. I was even less impressed when to my utter disbelief my VISA account was debited the equivalent of one year subscribtion without my knowledge !

When I contacted the club for an explanation and a refund, I was told that I should have informed them not to renew the service before the expiry of the one month trial period !!!!!

HA,HA, now why can't I have some basic respect from the team I supported for the past 42 years ?!?!

So that s two of us just from Malta. They gave me the same reply. Obviously if they had so many complains the club should know that its not very honest. It also happened at the time when we had sold keane and berbatov and I must say I had really lost interest for a while. Its disgusting that this is still happening. Very ameteurish

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your response.

Whilst I am prepared to accept that my subscription may have been “automatically renewable”, I consider that it is completely unacceptable that you provided no notification whatsoever in the period prior to renewal that renewal was imminent, and thus you gave me no opportunity to cancel. I pay for many other services by direct debit and in no other case is money removed from my account without appropriate notice.

Have other customers found themselves in a similar position to me, being unaware of the imminent renewal? If so, have you not considered the possibility that it would be appropriate to give proper notification of renewal? Also, what exactly is the legal position? Do you not have any obligation to notify me under the Direct Debit Guarantee scheme?

Yours faithfully,

Darren Bent

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for contacting us.

We have no obligation to remind you as you have already agreed to this action taking place by accepting the terms and conditions. This type of contract is commonplace when subscribed to internet sites.

I'm not sure if this was run by the club itself, they'd be so prepared to 'shit' on their customers like this... am I over reacting?
