Are we cursed or is there simply a conspiracy against us?

Right guys.....I'm starting to think supporting spurs have turned me into a bloke on the verge of falling into depression!

Why are we always not getting the rub of the green? We're never getting any luck in decisions, transfers and injuries.

We're always in the shadow of those scum down the road since beating them with that Gazza Freekick that changed my life forever.

I was so confident there would be no St Totteringham day this season but its gone all pear shaped since.......

Here's a list of stupid incidents that's come into my mind now but do add to this list if anyone can think of anymore

1) Mendes "Goal" at OT
2) Gomes incident that resulted in Nani scoring against us
3) Going 3-0 up to lose 5-3 to Manure
4) Lasagna gate
5) Reaching 4th and Chelscum won the UCL
6) Dodgy decisions today at Emirates
7) Mata's "Ghost goal" last season
8) Not getting a single penalty this season
9) Losing Sandro, Bale, Kaboul, Defoe, Lennon for the run in

This thread is by no means a self pity thread but i'm starting to think we are cursed or something......

Is it the fengshui at WHL or is it becos the Cannon over the road is aiming in our direction?

Levy, please sign a fengshui master or tap Peter Hill-Wood's phone a la Massimo Morrati please!!!!

I dunno how much disappointment i can take but as long as i'm keeping sane, i'll still be a proud cockeral cos revenge would be sweeter if we achieve it in the right way!!!!

COYS!!!!!!!

I'm so sure of the Spurs curse that when Basel got a corner the other day that clearly came off their player right in front of the official behind the goal I put £5 on them to score from it. Sure enough they did. :)

OK the truth is if we fail to finish in the top four this season it will be because we have not been good enough......

1) Mendes "Goal" at OT - Linesman was in line with where the ball was, there was no way they could have been 100% sure that the ball crossed the line. Not convinced they wouldn't have given it the other way, but it was a judgement call and one that I can't really argue with now, despite how much I did that bloody day.

2) Gomes incident that resulted in Nani scoring against us - That was just Gomes being Gomes, can't argue at all with him giving nani the ball.

3) Going 3-0 up to lose 5-3 to Manure - Not sure why that has to be a curse or a conspiracy. They were amazing back then.

4) Lasagna gate - Could well have been done on purpose. Jury still out here.

5) Reaching 4th and Chelscum won the UCL - Their path to winning was ludicrous, Messi missing a pen, Bayern falling apart... What a night :(

6) Dodgy decisions today at Emirates - Meh
7) Mata's "Ghost goal" last season - Gomes...

8) Not getting a single penalty this season - Just like the feeling that other teams get more OGs than us this is dicated by our style of play. We don't dominate the oher teams box like Arsenal/Chelsea do.

9) Losing Sandro, Bale, Kaboul, Defoe, Lennon for the run in We lost Kaboul and Sandro a long time ago, Defoe wouldn't start anyway and Lennon and Bale missed one league game and are due back for City. I think you're just looking for things now :)

A combination of bad luck with injuries (or dodgy medical staff? someone needs to look into this!), poor transfers, backroom staff upheaval and simply not giving a shit (Redknapp) are to blame. Bit more depressing and mundane than some voodoo mumbo-jumbo unfortunately.

Thanks for the explanations Flightrisker!
I admit i might be looking for things in some of the points but i'm really on the verge of getting a "Why always us" Shirt!

But i'm in Singapore so can someone please go down to that toilet bowl down the road and see if the cannon is really in our direction?:)

Don't know about a conspiracy against us, but do feel that a lot of the officiating that goes on in the premiership, has biased tendencies towards or against certain teams, and have thought that for a while.

You can add the Stoke away game last season to your list. There was also a dodgy goal given to Chelsea at stamford bridge the season we were in the CL, we were 1-0 up and not surprisingly went on to lose 2-1. But Gomes did fuck up in that instance.

I dont know if we are cursed, it feels like it some times but the seasons not over just yet.

I relish the competition if it's based on fairness and not bullshit, but I think today I honestly just gave up, I can't take it anymore we get robbed out of everything and it all goes against us every fucking season I'm just done with this shit. I don't care if we get 4th, it's not worth the heartache of being robbed of it and missing out by a fraction every year.

You forgot Martin Fulop's dodgy keeping against the scum on the final day last season too.

It just comes down to money, if you have money u win more than you lose.

I think it's that simple, Blackburn, Chelsea, and now Man C have proved this.

Even Liverpool have shown that reputation alone can't keep you at the top. If we had a billionaire throwing money around making it rain we'd be competing for the title.

Without this anywhere from 4th - 8th is our level with the odd cup success now and then.

The players have changed over the last 6 or 7 years. The managers have changed. The back room staff have changed. Yet still there exists the same bottle job mentality. Who else is at the matches every week and regularly interacts with the squad?

We have been on the end of some god awful decisions but I feel we've put ourselves at risk of things happening outside our control having a pivotal effect on our own season.

The lasagna gate season we should already have qualified and last season we chose to play it safe in the january transfer window thinking we couldn't be caught.

Sometimes we try to wing it IMO and rely on things all falling into place rather than making it happen.

After this summer, looking at out squad I didn't expect a top four finish as we had weakened our squad and if it wasn't for Bale we wouldn't be where we are. Again we didn't strengthen in January and we loaned out Townsend which has proved to be a mistake.

Arsenal are jammy gits but as others have said, if you dominate teams for long enough and build pressure you often get lucky.

Signs of either mass incompetence or corruption in the refereeing system affecting games? Certainly. Conspiracy? I don't think so.

I think we're perhaps a good team to throw matches of though, IF something like that were to be going on. Good enough to attract backing aplenty, but not to be unassailable.
