Football is not a game for ladies, gentlemen and good manners. We still haven't even wiped out the shameful slur of racial abuse after more than a century of football.

Some of us try to maintain higher standards but I fear it's a losing battle.

Fella there is being funny, and there is being stupid!! if you seriously believe, abuse, racism etc is exceptable then im afraid you need to listen to the masses, because its not exceptable, in life and in football!!

Put it this way, would you grab a stranger around the collar, threaten him, verbally abuse him, because he looked at you smuggly!..maybe you would..but the majority of people would laugh, or ignore it and walk away!

FB Twitter and Forums get monitored, and im sure now this has made the papers, the individuals concerned will be identified and some sort of action taken, this should tell you its not exceptable!!
I think you may be taking JG a little too seriously/literally!
He's not condoning what happened and he hasn't said that racism or any other form of prejudice is exceptable.
We all get a little angry when someone scores against us (especially if its a rival team) and we may say things that are a little ungentlemanly but that doesn't mean we're going to commit an act of violence or intimidation.

What a lovely turn of events that we're all rallying around Nasri though! We're a jolly fab bunch at SC :)

Piss poor fans and how brave they were (not). Saying that im not sure how i would react to Camp bell although i think i would be more articulate than calling him a wanker.

Listen what happened to Nasri and Chamack, was and is unexceptable...im not saying hes a racist, but all abuse is unfortunately present in todays game, i would of had more respect if he had come out and said " i dont like the player, but what happened and the behaviour of those fans was out of order"!

Also i dont hate any player because they score against us on numerous occasions..i get frustrated that our players dont close him down and defend properly..Henry was the same, infact every game he played against us you could see it coming, and he looked pretty smug when he scored dont ya think?! but i dont hate him, and i wouldn't condone any abuse being vented in his direction..Guess its my age fella, i just find it unexceptable in todays game.

Yes it was unacceptable, no question about that. But I'm pretty sure JG didn't say that it was.

You must have an amazing level of tolerance if you've never disliked someone when they've scored against us!
Fair play to you....its you who will avoid the cardiac arrests not me!

Incidently Henry was/is one player that I can't help but like. But then again I may be one of the only Spurs fans who doesn't hate Arsenal (geography and a lack of Arsenal fans around me helps with that).

We can all be thankful that football, or at least watching football, has changed out of all recognition. Far less abuse, violence, prejudice, intimidation and injuries at a football match now. Its a world away from what I experienced in the 80s and 90s!

I have to be honest Nasri along with Suarez and Campbell etc are players I detest! I wouldn't go up to them in the street and tell them that because I have more pride in myself and wouldn't want to show myself up or give them the satisfaction of bigging up their own self importance, however sometimes a joke on a forum really isn't going to hurt anyone, it's not like Nasri visits SC is it?!

Listen to yourself, saying I think racism and abuse are ok. I shouldn't have to say "i dont like the player, but what happened and the behaviour of those fans was out of order", it should be pretty bloody obvious to anyone with half a brain that what they did in that video was stupid. What the hell is wrong with people these days when that actually needs to be explained. So instead I made a joke about Nasri being a bit toothy, thats NOT RACIST, thats not even abusive (have you even been on the internet before?). I even said I'd have him at spurs or did you not get that far in my post? Sorry but to accuse me of those things is ludicrous, insulting and to be honest, I think most people on here should be able to see that.

Thanks for being the voice of reason and for the record, Henry, like Bergkamp before him was one of those players that as a football fan you just have to enjoy watching while they're in the game. Of course when he'd score and he'd run to the touchline and dance a jig, I wanted to punch him on the nose give him a big hug and a pat on the back.

Agreed, if I saw any footballer on the street I wouldn't even ask for an autograph as I wouldn't want to intrude on whatever it is they were doing, let alone shout abuse at them. Unless I saw Sandro waiting for a bus or something, that would be different.

... and then you would ask him if you could have his babies... ;)

I had to stop reading this thread as I was taking exception to the misuse of the non word exceptable

I noticed this video when it was posted on Reddit a few days ago, I do not really understand what the big deal is. He was called a wanker a few times, there was no violence and extreme abuse. Sure, it's not nice and it shouldn't happen but it wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. Or did I miss something in the video?

Screw Nasri, what the hell is he doing walking to the stadium anyway, asking for trouble?
If I was walking up to WHL with Sol Campbell, I'd be ripping into him the whole time! Every player has an opinion, why can't fans have one? If Nasri wants to put himself in a position where he's face to face with that fans opinion, then he's the fool!

That's what I was thinking. Fans shouting wanker and obscene stuff is pretty much the norm. I'm sure even if Berbatov had of walked to our stadium he would have got a few taunts. It's just the way it goes.

Nasri is an odd case, if anyone writes shit about him in a paper he cries about it. The grudge with Gallas is just silly as well.

I really don't know what he was expecting when he had slagged off their fans and strolls to the stadium
