we've got southampton at home on wednesday, so why not rest Toby for that game, a game we could cope without him? Why rest him for this game? Makes no sense! Goons would've been very pleased to see Toby out and a young inexperienced Foyth in.

add to the fact that Jan has played barely 30 mins in 2 months and I not sure if he has ever partnered with Foyth before and the whole thing is just baffling.

this is not being wise after the event either since most people said it at 1pm when the line outs came out.

we handed the initiative to them before KO, then couldn't gain composure when under pressure and gifted them 3 goals with stupid stupid errors.

FFS Poch, love you loads but sometime you just kill me.

evening ruined, week ruined, chanukah ruined !

rant over, i'm going to make a cup of tea
Tea wont help you today sir. Just sayin

Trying to find a silver lining, at least we have played more away games this season than anyone else- albeit every game is an away one for us.
The game is over and we can't concede any more goals. There you go, there's another one!

No excuses, beaten by the better and hungrier side on the day, congrats Arsenal for that.

But.. They are a Europa League side, we are a Champions League side and we'll finish ahead of them in the league again this season
I reckon we will finish above them if we strengthen well in Jan. but really, we have played well once this season. And obviously there is something to be said about getting results when you play poorly but really, at what point does one start to worry. I guess if we start loosing more often.

I feel like we have completely lost our identity and are scraping wins on shear willpower and resolve. On the one had that’s encouraging, but I don’t see it taking us the distance. I actually don’t really know what type of football we play anymore, it’s kind of counter, kind of possession, sort of high press but not really. Bits of tikki takka but not really. The only thing I know we do is play out from the back regardless of the opositions tactics and that we often crumble completely against the high press. But that isn’t anything new . As it is, the Chelsea game was an anomaly as far as our game plan goes. Hopefully this will all come together over winter and come Jan we will look our electric selves. I just worry as Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are much stronger then they have been in a while and we can’t afford to let go of the reins.

I’m sure the next two days will be filled with anger and depression, then optimism on wednesday and hopefully all forgotten come Thursday. But the nature of our defeat, not the defeat itself, worry’s me most.

And I guess, on a side note, Toby must be as good as gone. Although we all sort of knew this anyway.

Foyth is ready to play against your Palaces, Cardiffs, Southamptons etc, but not away to one of your biggest rivals.

To add to this, today’s performance risks putting Foyth back, so why put him in the firing line and risk that? As Others have said Toby play today and should have been rested on Wednesday

Agree on this. We should utilise our best available players in the big games and rest / rotate them against weaker opponents.

For those talking about catching City etc..
That was never happening even before today.... zero chance.
Im more angry of the inept performance once again in one of our biggest games of the season, that hurts, one win away at their place since I can remember.
So angry tonight from 2-1 up and we knew it would be tough 2nd half yet the players decided to not even bother, as for poch today - royally fucked up and hopefully he knows it
It seems to be a habit to blame Poch but I think he did very well. Different strategies dependent on the situation and they largely worked. We conceded a equaliser from a huge deflection -little to do with tactics - and sadly collapsed. It happens.

My feelings for Tottenham have hugely changed since we left WHL.

I don’t want to support a football club that strives to finish in the top 4 over winning the league or any trophy in offer.

We’ve become what Arsenal were mocked for. Under ENIC, we’ll never win the league. They simply see the club as an investment and couldn’t care less what we win, so long as we are making a profit.

What a bizarre thing to write given where we stood before kick off. Had we won it would have been our best start since 61.

After all 90's and early 00's it's NOW you want to jump off. Mystifying.(n)

Poch got it wrong today - the decision to leave Toby out in particular. I like Foyth and want the kid to play; but not today, not against the goons.

The team didn't compete physically, particularly in the final 3rd - and it's becoming a bit of a trend this season. We can't expect to have it our own way every game.

Lloris needs to do better in big games - defence didn't help him today BUT he always looks like the smallest player on the pitch for penalties and for me the Aubameyang and Lacazette goals were soft as hell - it was obvious where they were going to EVERYONE except Hugo.

Aaaaand Jan should have matured beyond the type of petulance he showed today.

It's only one game! COYS!

You're not allowed to be fucked off by the massive deflection. Apparently Arsenal were so superior - so majestic and admirable - that it wasn't really lucky at all - merely another reflection of their awesomeness. :shifty::p

If we won today, we’d lose to Southampton and Leicester next. Now I’m pretty confident we will win all the remaining matches in Dec

The most frustrating part of it all is how incredibly predictable it was!

It would be one thing if Foyth had been an absolute rock up until now and seeing him wither under the pressure of the NLD was the first sign of any mental weakness, but of course that's not the case. That's not a criticism of him, mind, as it's what you'd expect from a central defender with his CV. But the second half against Wolves should have made it abundantly clear to Poch that he was not ready to start away in a NLD.

You saw the deflection and would have anticipated it then I suppose? :ROFLMAO:

Fuck me - these threads do cheer me up after disappointing losses. Apparently our fans have super human sight and abilities that our players do not... :ROFLMAO:

We were a bit lucky to be leading when we did. It papered over the crack of what was a shambolic first 25 minutes or so. After going ahead we looked good up until the Aubamayeng goal. We then resembled the Tottenham of yesteryear with a very predictable collapse, terrible defending and lack of fight. They wanted it more by a distance

It’s the state of the league. Realistically we won’t win anything ahead of Man City or Liverpool. Despite the fact we’ve got an owner who is worth billions of pounds who seems to think he can use his money still when he’s dead.

It’s very obvious that he sees this club as an investment. I’ll never not support spurs, but results like this remind me of how far off we are in terms of winning something.

Dude.. he was going there anyway - watch the slow mo he took his eye off the ball AFTER the deflection. It's the same we see from him in all the important games - panic.

It wasn’t just Foyth that withered though as Verts, Davies and Aurier looked shakey compared to recent weeks so to blame Foyth entirely isn’t really fair. He just shouldn’t have played, I can’t see how today will have benefited his development it was a massive risk and backfired spectacularly

Jaysus man - it was a massive fucking deflection always going away from the keeper into the corner of the net. The only way you can blame Lloris for that is, if like some people, you believe the deflection wasn't a massive slice of luck but a reflection of Arsenal's absolute golen awesomeness and Lloris should have been anticipating Lacazette's deserved skill in playing the ball off Dier :ROFLMAO:

We've never been closer in 40 years and never been better in that time.

If you want an Oil Slaver to take over and match it with the other Oil Slavers fine - but blaming ENIC for not being Oil Slavers is pretty odd imo
