The funny thing is there is no such thing as fucking projects.

In Football it's all about the here and now. You appoint a top coach and you sign top players, you have to do both at the same time to succeed. You need to spend money of course and get the recruitment spot on with who you bring in, but it's still about the here and now. Projects in football are realised pretty quickly, you dont build a team over a five year period, by then any top players you have will want to move on and you are constantly swimming against the tide.

With Klopp, he came in and within 6 months the greenshoots of the philosophy were there, they spent big, spent well, and competed. We have Conte, within 6 months the greenshoots of the philosophy are there, you spend big, hopefully we spend well, and you compete.

Chelsea never have projects, they just appoint the best coaches and sign the best players and they won loads of trophies.

Anything else about long term projects is just guff to keep the fans at bay. With Poch, people talk about a project but the green shoots of the philosphy were there after about 6 months. In his second full season we competed for the league. He was a bit different because we didn't spend loads, but we actually had a group of players we had accumulated over a few years that peaked at the right time, and we competed, but that's pretty rare to see.

Arteta will be in his fourth season soon.
Do Arsenal really think with their current project they are going anywhere? I just don't see it.
I agree although
the project with Arsenal is not to create a team to win things. It’s all about financial stability, Buy young players who have an equal or higher sell on value and there’s little to lose. You hope by default you’ll have a good season at some point.,

All or nowt will be on soon, this will be the kiss of death. It will be interesting to see why they (Arsenal) let players go in Jan and not replce them. (Covid) cancelled game agsinst us and the NLD/NewUtd fall out.

How's that been working out for them over the last 10 years?

Their plan seems to be around content creation in the media. If they make enough noise on social media and pedal enough merch they're still big... right??

There was a story the other week about how they are about to 'win the transfer window', which obviously means nothing in reality. And then some fans of theirs commented that their Fabio Vieira announcement video got more views than Bissouma, so that means they are a bigger club or something. Can't trust the opinions of these people but the social media aspect is definitely part of a mindset.

I’m not defending them or promoting the idea-just saying how I see it...

Wonder how Arteta will come across in All or Nothing could be quite big for him. We all pretty much knew how Mourinho would come across. Hichen became a meme, Rose if Milan had called. Definitely has the potential to undermine him.

"Let that sink in" doesn't have the same impact if what you said is obviously nonsense.

Brighton played Arsenal twice last year. Bissouma played in just one of those games. Brighton won it.

Everton played Arsenal twice last year. Richarlison played in just one of those games. Everton won it.

Indeed, while we're here, Southampton played Arsenal twice last year. Forster played in just one of those games. Southampton won it.

Let that sink in...
