Yeah, it’s funny that they bottled it, but they’re gonna replace Xhaka with Declan Rice in one of the biggest glow-ups since Neville Longbottom in the final Harry Potter film. They’re not going anywhere

When we finished 2nd our marquee signing was Davinson Sanchez….

How can anyone say they haven’t bottled it - it has happened two seasons in a row.
Top 4 chase last season and now this capitulation- on both occasions they had comfortable leads and choked. It really is as simple as that.
It’s been great seeing Lego Heads shit eating grin wiped off his boat the last few weeks. Ha!.

Can't make up my mind whether I think they'll do better or worse next season.

One one hand - the core of their side in Ramsdale, Saliba, Magalhaes, White, Odegaard, Martinelli and Saka are all 25 or under - Jesus and Zinchenko are still only 26 - so could all conceivably get better next year. Only Partey, Xhaka and Jorginho will be in their 30s next season, and even then only in the early 30s so unlikely that any of their players get significantly worse. I don't think there are any real rumours or likelihood of any of their stars seeking transfers so it's basically the same again but with the potential for them to splash the cash as they've been doing for the last few years, but this time with extra Champions League money and a bit more pulling power.

On the other hand - unlikely that so many things will go in their favour again. For one, they went out of both domestic cups early, had only the league campaign to focus on since mid-March, and ended up playing less than 50 games over the season which is at least 10 less than Man Utd or City. Even with the fewer games, in almost all of the cup games other than the two against Sporting they heavily rotated the side. With Champions League football next year they won't be able to play their reserves in the European group stages anymore so unless they go out of all the cups early it's unlikely their stars will get as much rest as they have this year. It's also worked out well for them that their rivals have had such bad seasons - nobody predicted that us, Liverpool and Chelsea would all be as poor as we have been and even City were unusually inconsistent in the first half of the season until they kickstarted their season with a win at the Emirates. You'd expect a few of those to get their shit together next season plus Newcastle with another year of Saudi oil money and Champions League football so it's gonna get even more competitive.

They will be mega spending again this summer.

Crazy how quickly they've overtaken us in 12 months.

if that's true, it shows everything that was wrong at Spurs.

When Liverpool just fell short they went out and bought Two players that changed their fortunes

When Arsenal fell short they are potentially doing as Pool did.

When we fell short, we put the cheque book away.

and yet what they really need is a dominant striker and backup at CB? Will Martinelli and Saka continue or reach a level? What happens if Odegard goes to Barca or drops off? Rob Holding . . .

They will be battling for that 2nd to 5th CL spot with everyone else next season.

Expectations will be higher in the FA and League Cups, they'll need to go strong in the CL and no way us, Chelsea, Liverpool and ManU are all as poor again next season.

They've not overtaken us - they've had a great season, we've had a shit one but you also have to factor in their mentality (or lack of).

I'm still not convinced Arteta is anything special. He's been given free reign and asked to deliver one win a week, yet when it got tough he couldn't deliver.

Nonsense.

The bit they don't mention is that in order to do that they must receive £100m for ESR, Nelson and Lokongo.......no chance
They won’t be getting anything for Nelson as his contract expires next month. No shortage of suitors I would think and I think he’s on £35k/week presently.

Hang your heads in shame. I've only gotten to Novermber of this thread. I've got a lot of time today to keep finding every single twerk post.

I was interested to see them play City as well, and get battered 3 times.

Told you not be worried didnt we?

The collapse did come.

You can acknowledge that you were wrong about how dangerous they are.

Take two paracetomal and lie down in a dark room.

Yes it was and is.

Vomit.

On the contrary, that's exactly what its been.

How about now?

It wasnt stupid.

LOL

LOL

This guy got it.

AND HERE WE GOOOO

He didnt listen

They weren't.
Listen I am as joyful as any spurs fan that they bottled it this season. Taken immense pleasure in their losses and city overtaking them. However they have played some great football and absolutely schooled us in both matches. From our dominance against them the last decade they have built the foundations to overtake us on the pitch. That is why I am annoyed that people didn’t see how dangerous they were. It was never about them not winning the league, thought city would pull through. But more about how they have surpassed us on field.

Just shows what happens if you spend fuckload sand spend it properly. I really hope they dont get Rice. He’s a massive upgrade on their midfield and a bit under rated.

But they’ll always be hamstrung by the manager. With him it could go either way.

Yup. They aren’t saddled with the same shit owners we are and it looks like a huge spending spree in summer, utilising their high stock and champions league status.
Yet we get 150m cash injection and spend 100m.

Caicedo, rice and odegaard is a pretty incredible midfield.
