Has there ever been a bigger bellend than Arteta managing a PL club as I can’t think of one.

On a serious note, they and Liverpool are setting a horrible precedent in terms of respect for officials.

Lower league and grassroot officials will bear the brunt of this disrepect, when supporters see their clubs and managers saying stuff like this and going two-footed in on refs like this they will go at their local refs in the same way. This is bad.

So much for "they are trying to make the best decisions. We need to understand that mistakes happen". I guess that only applies when it doesn't negatively affect his own team.

Which is why the punishment needs to be appropriate - fold the club I think.

More seriously, I totally agree with your point and think that PGMOL need to get together with the FA and PL and put a stop to all this now - some sort of sensible punishment.

Fucking hell is every club going to give official statements when something doesn’t go their way??
Liverpool really opened a can of worms with their pathetic behaviour, as only a matter of time before another pathetic club followed suit

It will be a large fine, plus double-secret probation.

Who'd have thought losing Xhaka would have such and impact.

Without Odegaard and playing 2 DMs is Southgate style. Havertz is not good enough to play 10 or 8 in the PL. He plays well in a free role roaming behind the striker when there is time and space to play. That rarely happens in the PL.

I can imagine him doing well in Germany when he is the main man and playing inferior opponents.

What I loved yesterday was the intensity of the game. There is not much to like about this Newcastle side, but the way the crowd and players have created an atmosphere is fantastic, very similar to us this season.

Going from boring nothing football to high intensity is great for the fans.

Arsenal are still a good team, but I wouldn’t have them anywhere near City as challengers and they'll finish below Liverpool imo as well.

I watched United and Arsenal yesterday and only two goals, but the intensity of the football was fantastic .

I just think a lot of teams have worked out how to play against them. Plus they seem to be attacking more down the left than the right assumingly because saka isn’t completely fit. That mean Odegaard gets the ball less and then when he does he is in no space.

If Artita changes tactics they’ll be fine, but can he? Hopefully he can’t.

I would hope we never do that. Yes it sucks when a bad call goes against you. But that is life. We pick up and move on.

If there is something systemic that needs to be addressed - it can be done behind the scenes without all the public whining.

The Liverpool one, I understand to an extent because it was a mistake that meant a goal that should have stood, didn't.

Arsenal are just straight out complaining about a subjective decision from a referee, which refereeing decisions have always been!

Yeah true, there is some stiff competition out there but Legohead is definitely up there challenging for the title for a change..
Speak to fans of all clubs and he seems to be universally ridiculed. Probably not good for the Woolwich brand in the long run.

What the actual fuck are they doing with that statement? There were no confirmed or clear and obvious errors in that match yesterday - it’s wholly irresponsible for a club to come out with that bullshit in an official capacity just because subjective/marginal decisions went against them in one bloody game. Not to mention pathetic and childish!

Honestly what the fuck are they thinking with that?

That’s pathetic from Arsenal. Like others have said this is setting a terrible precedent for how clubs react when decisions don’t go their way. The FA need to crack down on this before it gets out of hand.

Let’s see if any of the football journalists have the balls to put that to him in the coming days. My guess is no, they won’t.

That is pathetic.

The fans saying “we need to support them to improve football” are too. What’s your solution? Get rid of VAR? VAR had nothing to do with yesterday. More oversight? Less oversight? Better referees - what sod is going to want to referee when pricks like Arteta throw them to the wolves every week like it’s their fault their side didn’t have a shot on target? What is the problem you want to fix, because it just seems like “we got a decision I don’t like”.

Liverpool have the excuse of a genuine miscommunication (which still isn’t corruption). This is literally just “you didn’t give me what I want”.

Well, it's clear what their thinking is, isn't it - just like Liverfool they want refs to roll out the red fucking carpet for them on decisions from now on. On the pitch + VAR. And just like Everton was fucked over during the Liverfool game couple of weekends ago, so will some of Le Arse's next opponents will be as well sadly.
