If they didn't have Europa league I'd be inclined to agree. Don't understand just how disruptive that can be to League form, and they won't be used to the travelling at all. I hope they get someone way out in Kasakhstan or the arse end of Russia, or both.

People writing off Arsenal because of Sanchez have probably forgotten about Cazorla. He's been a huge miss for them and yet they still got 75 points and won a trophy. Would we have done so well if Eriksen had been out for the same amount of games that Cazorla has been out.

Anyway, he's 32 now and appears to be injury prone and may never come back as the same player. There's talk of Cazorla going back to Spain. Losing him and Sanchez will be very difficult to replace and could be the difference for them finishes outside the top 4 again or not.

Cazorla is out of contract this summer I think. I agree he's a good player but his time seems to have passed.

Carzola continue to recover and will miss the start of the season.

Ozil wants to run down his contract and go as free agent

Sanchez wants to leave and not sign new contract

Wenger extend 2 more yrs......

Lol

What is he going to do in 2 years? Next season he'll be aiming for top 4. The season after, if he qualifies, he'll be out to Bayern. It's a 2 year pause button on Arsenal. Which is great for us after improvements over the last 3 seasons.

Exactly, Arsene is Mr stagnation, gives us time to do Wembley, get in our new home and continue to improve the squad.

Arsenal still have greater resources than us but aren't using them, we now have a good 2-3 years to play catch up so even if they do get a really top manager and spend the cash we are in a better position to hold them off.

Not sure if this has been discussed yet. Just wondering how grass roots the Wenger Out campaign is, and how much is directed by Alisher Usmanov. Social media nonsense, hiring of planes and trucks, production of placards - it's all the sort of thing that oligarchs with a cunning plan would throw resource at.

Never thought of it tbh, but nothing surprises me these days.

I actually think Arsenal will announce a very big signing in the mould of Sanchez/Ozil, then all the fans will start believing again. Then once the season starts, as always they'll start off well until the reality hits that they're playing Dynamo Herpes away on a Thursday night followed by Chelsea away on the Sunday. Add the usual November collapse and the fans will realise it's same old, same old.

On the flip side, if he continues to do this - one majestic signing a season along with 3 shitarses - they might have a great team in 9 years.

Claude makes a pretty good point here. If they had an idea that they wanted to restructure the whole backroom staff and the way that the club operates on a football and recruitment level, then why didn't they do it earlier?

Now they will spend the majority of the summer restructuring, bringing people in who won't have the full summer to establish the right kind of player.

Cazorla is unlikely to play again. He's been quoted as saying he's out until November due to having 8 operations on his ankle. Now being reported as unlikely to play next season at all. at 32 years of age you can't see him coming back from this.

--------------------------------------------------------

'You feel like throwing in the towel but my desire to play football is above everything,' he told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.

'I haven't been given a timeframe. It's very difficult to put a date, but I don't think it will be before five months.'

Despite his ankle problem, Cazorla was handed a one-year contract extension at the turn of the year.
