Would've taken second at the beginning of the season if someone had told me the top club wouldn't be Arsenal or Chelsea.

One thing is for sure though, coming 4th, 3rd or 2nd is not winning. Always need to aim for 1st and see what happens.

No that isn't the crux of my argument at all, you're making things up again, I haven't said anything about Wenger spending money in fact I made a point about what they needed more than anything earlier in the thread and that is a mammoth change of mentality and not to throw money at the problem.

Of course they don't have the right to win the league but they've had chances to win the league in previous seasons and just like this season they've come up short due to the same problems as before, injures, lack of bottle, players going out of form etc......They shoot themselves in the foot time and time again. Naturally if you are progressing as a club these things get worked on and made sure they don't happen again but at Arsenal Wenger keeps on repeating the same mistakes which is why the fans are upset.

You are actually missing my point and your post just proves it, you are talking about this season only but the reason the fans are pissed is because the stagnation and false dawns have been happening over a period of 12 years since they last won the league 12 years ago hence the 12 min protest. They want change in the club because they are not seeing any progress and as I alluded to any set of fans would be the same.

I thought it was you going on about him not spending money. I'm not deliberately putting words in your mouth.

Most of the goons I know think it's about money. Not buying a world class CB, or perhaps a CF. if they had Toby and Kane they'd have won it last month. Possibly. Quality of player far more relevant than an abstract word like mentality.

They want wheelchair and Rosicky out, but these are the only two who don't seem to work for a living over there. The sprinters like Walcott and Ox will get pulls and tears from time to time. It's normal. And Wenger and his training methods certainly ain't to,blame for Cazorlas long term knee injury. They also think they would have shaded Leicester with him in the team, maybe.

I see you don't accept the point they can't progress without actually winning it. Well they have and clearly the two trophies and third place this season stopped most of their fans from joining in what appeared to be a damp squib of a protest. Without such progress I think the scale would have been far greater.

I see you also think all groups of fans would react the same way. Don't think there's any evidence to back this up, purely hypothetical.

Good to see wenger talking big again today, as SP expertly said above ideally their run of near misses will continue so their lot become even more deeply divided.

I think if Arsenal may have added one or two more quality players they may well have won the league this season but that isn't getting to the crux of their issue IMO. Just throwing money at problems that have deeply manifested itself isn't the way to do business nor is it sustainable IMO so I agree with you on that.

In regards to their injury problems there is definitely some sort of carelessness going on in regards to Arsenal looking after their players, this has been noted by Dutch coach Raymond Verheijen who criticised Wenger for having old skool training methods. It simply cannot be a co-incidence that Arsenal pick up so many injuries year on year.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...heijen-as-Dutchman-calls-them-amateurish.html

Think I've already given evidence where fans are not happy with lack of progression at other clubs:

And I'm not really backing Arsenal fans here, Everton fans were protesting yesterday because they think Martinez has taken them as far as he can and he should be sacked, Everton have stagnated and in some cases gone backwards. Utd fans were protesting at their board when Moyes was in charge because the fans knew that he wasn't the right man for the job and that's my point our fans were ready to protest at Levy at the start of the 2014/15 season because we were becoming disillusioned about the club, football fans in reality are no different from one another at the end of the dat they all want what's best for their club.

In regards to my point about progression they clearly haven't progressed and trophies isn't just a barometer for progression but you'd think by now that Arsenal would have won more in those 12 years, 3 FA Cups is kind of a pitiful showing don't you think? Despite that you can progress by not doing the same things over and over again, you can progress by not losing your bottle every February, by not having so many injures every year, by at least putting up a legitimate title challenge, by attempting to change the mentality of the club etc...These are the things the fans are pissed about.

To be honest I wouldn't take much from that protest, I'd still expect most Arsenal fans to want to keep Wenger at the club, after all he's been their most successful manager but you need to look at if he does leave who can actually replace him...? There isn't anyone out there, that's not to say that the fans should be happy with what they are watching or how the club is being ran which is why they are unhappy and like I said I don't blame them.

Alexis Sanchez apparently stormed out and is unhappy. They'd never deal with us but we should definitely be cheeky and put a bid in, he probably wants to be part of a team that fights

A number of media sources are reporting it, sayong he left the stadium after being subbed last week. Could be nothing but he did seem to ignore Wenger when he was subbed last week
