Baku back to London for an Arsenal fan must be the single most painful, tedious and miserable journey undertaken by a supporter in the entire history of football.

Been catching up with aftv this morning

I felt a tad sorry for the fans then I recalled how they celebrated beating us... Now gone back to feeling joy about those fucking bottle job ****s

Objectively they’ve got a good attack. I really rate Boomerang, even if they signed him when his pace and general ability has dipped. They’re just shockingly poor in defence. Ozil is hilariously poor.

Arsenal's three subs tonight were Guendouzi, Willock and Iwobi. I have literally never heard of the first two. Other subs included, of those whose name I recognise, Elneny, Mustafi, Wellbeck and Jenkinson (whose name I honestly haven't heard in several years.) The other 3 or 4 on the bench are names I don't recognise.

On Saturday, ours subs will be 3 of (say) Kane, Son, Lucas, Lamela, Winks, Wanyama, Dier, Llorente, Sanchez, Davies, Auerier...depending on the starting 11. Skipp and Foyth will prob be the least recognisable/senior/glamorous names on the bench.

That's a pretty enormous gulf, and suggests Arse need a half dozen top tier players, just to fill their bench. The half dozen needed to fix the first 11 is a whole other problem.

With all the problems we've had this year, Arsenal (and Man Utd) had a great chance to finish us off when we were down.

They didn't take their chance and failed to nab our Champions League spot AND then failed to take their Champions League spot last night.

It's now imperative that we turn the tables and double-down on their failure. We need to sign the 3 or 4 (or 5) good players that Poch wants this summer, to cement our supremacy over them.

If we do that, then we'll be challenging for the top places in the league, while Arsenal will sink into the 6th/7th place dog-fight with Wolves, Newcastle and Watford, etc.

Finally, it's worth noting that Chelsea are going to be seriously weakened next season, if they lose Hazard and have a transfer ban imposed on them. Watching the final yesterday, I wasn't all that impressed with what they had on offer especially in attack (except for Hazard obviously).

We just need to have a solid summer transfer window and we'll finally establish ourselves in the European elite.

Their talent/skill levels are high, but there are still serious question marks over the mentality of the likes of PEA or Lacazette. I'm not sure if it's inherent in those players, or it's just a weakness that has rubbed off on them because the whole squad is rife with bottle-jobs.

But yeah, their defence is pretty terrible.

Btw re. AFTV...

I'm starting to think that it's not healthy, and somewhat exploitative, to stick a microphone in someone's face after a defeat when the emotions are running high.

It's also exacerbated if the person interviewed has taken a week's worth of social media trolling/banter and doesn't know how to save face.

Plus some of the fans on there clearly have either low IQs or learning difficulties.

It's all fun and games until someone hangs themselves.

I think all the pre-match build up stuff is fine and the shows they do between games, etc, but there's an increasing 'Jeremy Kyle' vibe to the whole sordid spectacle.

Gooner at work is absolutely terrified that we're going to win on Saturday. He can't process it at all that we could be champions of europe.

Arsenal have always engendered ****s. Look at Adebayor, Nasri, Persie, Cole etc etc... they all leave and immediately mock them. They have to realise that they're just a bollocks club and no one likes them.

To be fair, that wouldn't happen in the days of George Graham. The players from that era are Arsenal through and through.

Sums up Arsene Wenger and what a poor judge of character he was, or became.

Poch isn't perfect, but I think he spots a bad-apple when he sees one and gets rid quickly.

They have two great strikers but no one to create for them or control the midfield or defend properly.
