Ossie Emery
Reckon they will play 433. Pepe is actually a wide forward and replacement for Iwobi who they got great money for.
Midfield will probably be xaka torreira and Cebbalos/the frizzy haired twat with the long name.
It’s not a bad side and better than last years. If they still had Ramsey it would be even better

This thread is far too long.
I really don't understand some peoples fixation with this team!

I dunno. £25m for Walcott was even weirder. At least Iwobi has the possibility to improve.

But Everton giving Arsenal ~£60m for those two.....

Iwobi is absolute trash. Walcott at least had a bit of experience. I feel sick. These are players they should be forced to let go for free because of how bad they are.

Imo has done good this window. Luiz in as replacement for Judas Iscariot. Pepe and Ceballos are good enforcements attacking wise and Kierny a good prospect

A very tired Tottenham who were far from full strength. The Statsbomb article in one of the other threads gives a good explanation as to why we were so poor last season.

It’s obvious why we were poor last season and why we SHOULD BE better this year. I’m amazed some people can’t see it.

Weird squad building by Arse.

They've lost:
Cech (GK)
Ospina (GK)
Koscielny (DF)
Lichsteiner (DF)
Bielik (DF)
Jenkinson (DF)
Ramsey (MF)
Welbeck (FW)

And signed:
Tierney (DF)
Luiz (DF)
Ceballos (MF, loan)
Martinelli (FW)
Pepe (MF/FW?)

and in a year, they'll have Saliba.

So the 'replacements' are:
Cech (GK) -> No one
Ospina (GK) -> No one
Koscielny (DF) -> Luiz
Lichsteiner (DF) -> No one
Bielik (DF) - Probably doesn't count
Jenkinson (DF) - Tierney
Ramsey (MF) - Pepe/Ceballos
Welbeck (FW) - Martinelli

So, by my reckoning, they have failed to replace two 'keepers and a CB, and have replaced Welbeck with Martinelli, who is a random young lad from the lower leagues of Brazil, so they seem to have left some big holes.

I assume they're going to bring in some free transfers?
I can't understand why ppl are saying they've had the best window.

They've barely fixed any weaknesses

In fairness, their starting 11 is pretty good now. Remains to be seen how Pepe and Tierney will settle, I can imagine that left hand side is going to be targeted in the early weeks of the season.

However when you look further down their squad, it's frail as shit. They have absolutely no attacking options from the bench, and what happens when they need to rest Aubameyang and Lacazette? They better hope Reiss Nelson is ready, because he's going to see a lot of minutes this season.

Leno
Bellerin - Sokratis - Luiz - Tierney
Guendozi - Cebellos - Torreira
Pepe - Laca - Auba

Potentially a very good side if the new signings deliver. Hopefully they continue and play the likes of Xhaka, Ozil and Mhikitarian instead.

It's weird how people worried about Gazza as our third keeper, and yet Arsenal don't have a 2nd one of any note!

It would be typical for them to sign Vorm on a free and for him to turn into a wall.

I suspect I’m going to get in trouble for posting such a screenshot but...

How ‘Arsenal’ is this?! :ROFLMAO:

I'm not worried for us especially. I just want Arsenal to be in a financial mess that leads them into the equivalent of our 90s period
I think they pretty much are headed that way. The signs for me are:

1. Sign great forwards
2. Neglect the Defence and midfield
3. Players leave on demand and without warning (Campbell/Koscielny)
4. Boardroom chaos (Scholar, Sugar, Venables - Kronkje)
5. Their ground is no longer new and is costing money to update and maintain, especially with our new home as competition for corporate business.

Looking good for the Lilly whites!

COYS!

And espnfc rated their window as the biggest winner ffs!! :facepalm:

If they have not heard of GLC like the sky sports muppet hosts, how can they be swooning over Pepe?!

And we did not even get a mention. Amazing.

Fans used to brag when their club signed good players at a bargain price.........then they turned their attention to net spend.........well now Arsenal fans have taken it to the next level.............they are now celebrating initial payments (though still calling it Net Spend). They are bigging up their DOF, for how much of the fees is paid this season!!!! Just when you thought they couldn't be anymore small time.

They also lost Iwobi, who has the 2nd most assists for them in the league last season.

Because some people don't want to see it.

Us having rested players and a proper preseason is why I think we will push Man City for the title. People seem to forget we had poor performances all season because players weren’t at 100% after last summer so poch has to constantly rotate. Dele’s injury now kind of disputes what I’m saying but we will be a lot fresher. Plus we’re will have the new signings in in a couple of weeks to add excitement.

Looking at that list, they must have some HG issues surely?

I looked at that team and thought typical arsenal, no English players. When poch joined he knew the importance of having an English backbone and integrating the young players who have the club at heart. Maybe emery will put more in the team this season but his signings don’t suggest that.
