They are in a real dilemma at present.

Some serious money needs to be spent (probably ~£300m in todays market) or they need to unearth some real talent from their academy and fast, but no real sign of that at present.

Does Kroenke want to release that sort of investment, and by past experience you would probably say no, and would he give it to Wenger, whose buying recently has not been great, or get someone else in soon who will really shake things up..

There is a 'danger' that they just drift, and hope for the best, but another season of missing out on CL, and into the quicksand that is the Europa League will surely force them to make a decision one way or another, as there is too much risk to future sponsorship income etc.

I hope they tear themselves apart, and the smug, arrogant, self entitled element of their fanbase really find out what its like to stand by a club going through a fallow period.

I'm really glad the fallacy of their young talent production has been highlighted in recent years.

When you look at their genuine success in the Wenger era of developing youngsters it's very hit and miss - only the real genuine talents made a proper breakthrough and they probably would have done anywhere i.e. Anelka, Fabregas.

Their habit of fielding youngsters in the cups seemed to show off the future talent they had at their disposal but how many of those names over the years made the grade for them - i can't think of any who really stood out.

The thing that actually drove some success with these cup games for me was the mentality they had as a squad/club at the time. The fight they had in them as a side with the players they had. This mentality went a long way and probably got their youngsters some wins in the cup but in generally amounted to nothing.

Fast forward a few years and we've seen AW do nothing at all in terms of development with players like Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey to name a few of their current team, who he's had ample time to make more of. Fundamentally his success with youngsters is worse than most.

I think it would be more like £500M that they need to reinvest and no I dont see Kroenke investing that sort of money.

Won’t be too hard they will do it all by themselves, they haven’t planned very well, Sanchez, Ozil to probably leave along with Mustafi, Lauren K is 32, Peter C is 35, Giroud is 31, Cazorla 32, Monreal 31, and Mertesacker 33. Welbeck and Wislhire are crocked. The fabled Arsenal academy is non existent now. They don’t bring through many talented youngsters or find them much anymore.when they begin to rebuild they will be competing for the same players City, Utd, Chelsea, Us And pool are looking at. Owners that don’t want to spend.

They really are fucked.

Damn. I didn't realize that...particularly Carlozer.

I 80% agree with you on this

However, it is worth noting that their players have been woefully coached over the last few seasons, with few of them actually developing or getting better

It wouldn't surprise me if a new manager went in there and suddenly players who we previously thought were poor, suddenly become good, or are at least 'useful' to the new set-up

Hope I'm wrong though :ROFLMAO:

Agree with that, problem for them is that Wenger isn't leaving until the end of next season and even if they do get another manager in, how long will it be until he gets fed up with Kronke and co, not to mention having to make some huge investment in the squad and having to replace the likes of Sanchez and Ozil and the players who are getting older.

I agree he hasn't. He's either not critical enough with them - constantly pushing them to improve or he simply isn't able to coach them properly or perhaps a lot of both.

It doesn't matter who the next manager is unless Kronke has a huge turnaround in how he runs his sports franchises which would seem incredibly unlikely.

The carpenter laying our new carpet today was from London, unfortunately he was a goon.

When he was doing the lounge room i was tempted to chuck the Watford highlights up on the TV for a laugh.

I wouldnt worry about the Woolwich franchise, right now their rivals seem to be Watford... later with luck they'll be back in Plumstead playing Plumstead FC whos badge seems eerily similar..
Lets cheer for another 10 years of Wenger in charge.
Mind the Gap.

Indeed lol - know it well!
