I would be on board with this thinking if all European leagues were on a par which each over, or more or less on a par with each other.

We’ll have to see what teams we play on route to the final but I imagine only facing 1 maybe 2 teams that I would consider on a par with us. We might face none that are. We may have finished 7th in the best league in the world but does that mean playing teams that are not far away from being semi professional is at our level just because they’ve qualified for the same competition as us.

I guess we can even the playing field a bit by playing the kids.

The problem I always have is that I start off thinking like this, e.g. this season's Europa cup, but by the time we get to the knockout stages I'm desperate for us to win it.

If we get to the final we'll all end up sinking a few beers watching it at home or down our local (or the stadium knowing Levy) and end up jumping around at the final whistle if we win.
I celebrate stuffing lower league opposition in the domestic cups so I know I won't be any different in this one.

I’m always happy if we win but I honestly can’t see myself getting up for this that much, I definitely don’t see myself jumping around the place if we win it but I’m just a grumpy bastard perhaps. Winning it for me at best will be nice. Even assuming we beat a Roma in the final I imagine I’ll feel about as passionately about winning it as I did when we won the Audi cup. Maybe I’ll be more like you when we get to the knockouts but I can’t see it to be honest.

That club meant the world to him. Glad to see they gave him a nice sending off. RIP

Maybe cynical of me, as everyone does them differently, but can't help but feel a bit irked that the AFTV lot were still in full caricature mode.

Yeah Ty turning up in full club gear with headphones on was particularly tasteless. Does he not own other clothes?

Agree, I understand wearing Arsenal colours, but a little respect with the outfits. Not sure on the names, but the one who runs it, at least he wore a jacket and the shirt underneath, but the little guy looked like he was going down to the arcade to play space invaders rather than attend a funeral service.

Always enjoyed listening to Claude on AFTV (after a defeat of course) because he was a realist. RIP

The two in Spurs shirts too... Come on.

Wear a suit to a funeral.

As I said above, I think there's a genuine chance Ty doesn't own any clothes that aren't bought from the Arsenal shop.

He almost certainly has a personality disorder and those can manifest in very specific ways. Ty's is his absolute unwavering dedication to all things Arsenal, to the point where it's entirely possible he would see buying underpants from M&S as a "crime" against his club.

I think one can wear what one want to a funeral and especially a funeral like Claude's. He lived and breathed Arsenal and having friends and former associates turning up in the club gear, is just a tribute to him. "Oozing" won the funeral costume award imo

With the (somewhat old) news that Daniel Ek wasn't allowed to buy the club, the fans finally have some good news. Lewandowski scored so many goals they gave him Arsenal.
