Same thing as I say about Googlebox why the hell does anyone want to watch people watching TV, it's beyond me.

Beats the heck out of me too, but acting as a 'devils advocate' it might be something to do with a need to find out if your own emotions match up with those watching whatever they're watching? I dunno.

It's an interesting one.

I think in general, traditionally, for better or for worse, we're a culture that loves to listen to 'experts'. And the usual we connect with these experts is through the media (mostly TV or film).

Stick an opinionated person, who looks semi-credible, on tv and suddenly people are listening...rightly or wrongly.

I also think the same dynamic applies to attractiveness in people. I've definitely met, socialised and worked with plenty of girls over the years who had the same level of natural beauty as actresses and models, but because they weren't famous, they didn't have the same 'allure'.

Anyway, that's my take...probably for another thread

Isn't it kind of similar to posting in the match thread when the game is on?
People like seeing if others have the same views and opinions and catch the same things when watching

I suppose.

I guess you could watch the game, turn the commentary off and put on your favourite YouTube 'pundit' in the background as the main source of commentary.

I thought Britain has had enough of experts? :p

They've had a tougher start, certainly, but many people have said it's the performances, lack of motivation and zero tactical plan in each of their games that is the issue.

If they had have taken part in 'blood and thunder' contests, but lost all 3 then people might be a little more forgiving of their start.

This is without any doubt the very worst Arsenal team I have ever seen in nearly 60 years of watching football. Sometimes, life just gives you a massive dollop of pure joy, so after all the shit we've taken off them over the years, now it's their turn to be called a fucking laughing stock and we should take every opportunity to ram it home to them while we can. It's like I said previously, everything goes round in cycles.

What’s been apparent the last couple of weeks is how silent all my Woolwich supporting associates have become from the 4 corners of the earth.
During Mourinho’s fall from grace, carabao cup final, stuttering manager search and Kane dramas they were like a flock of squawking birds up a tree but that tree seems to have cut down recently and it’s blissful silence.
Reading today that Willian is in negotiations with them about terminating his contract and not going to walk away for nothing, and with agents fees to pay etc why would he - always thought that was a bit optimistic.
Be surprised if he settles for anything less than 70% to be honest.

I used to share this opinion - want them to become mediocre, rather keep the derbies where we're superior etc.

But their fans and everything around that vile club are so insufferable these days that I would gladly see them down and out for as long as you like. A good 10 year spent in the Championship etc would weed out all those glory hunters/kids/foreigners who infest all of social media and at least mean we'd only have to hear from actual proper Arsenal fans.

Plus it would shut them up literally forever - there's absolutely nothing they could ever say to us ever again after they got relegated.

Unfortunately, it will never happen.

I would say the opposite

this is the most humble I’ve ever seen most of my gooner mates. They are firmly in the acceptance phase

Social media is a different beast but amongst real fans it’s gallows humour right now

Willian is a real sack of shit and he reckons he's too good for them!? The gift just keeps giving.

He was okay until he went there. We dodged a bullet for sure and it seems clear we were interested but not at £240k/week - insane for someone on the way down in their 30’s

I wouldn't use the word humble. That almost sympathises with them and the tortures of hell they're all going through, and deservedly so. Personally I have no sympathy for them whatsoever, in fact I'm enjoying their agonies. Anyone who sympathises with their current plight is forgetting and/or forgiving all the shit they've thrown at us over the last few months as we struggled with a number of different issues.

Fuck 'em. I'm having the time of my life taking the piss while I can because we all know how quickly things can change in football.

Isn't schadenfreude a wonderful word?

maitland-niles is a strange one.

came through as a cm, where he was decent enough but nothing special. played some games at cm for arsenal and again, much of the same. then he plays at rb and actually does pretty well, problem is he still considers himself to be a midfielder and continues to tell the management that's where he wants to play. then wolves try and sign him for 15m or so but arsenal say no, they then proceed to literally do nothing with him for half a season only to then pack him off on loan in january to west brom where he plays as a midfielder and does very little yet again. arsenal then start the season with three right backs who are all varying levels of crap, whilst maitland-niles continues to sit there doing nothing. apparently he's now accepted that he's better off at rb and wants to play there but arteta continues to try anyone but him there ... whilst also seemingly not allowing him to leave lol.
