Saliba is surely going to be a part of their squad next season.

2019-20 he was loaned back (like Sarr for us this season) and played 17 games for St Etienne. He was then deemed not ready by Arteta for 2020-21 and expected to go on loan. Someone dropped a clanger and he ended up not registered to play and didn't get a loan until January to Nice where he played 20 times.

This season he was sent to Marseille where he's been very good and made 52 appearances as well as playing twice for the National team and winning the players Young Player of the year award.

And I should also state that Saliba wasn't actually caught wanking on camera. Instead he filmed a player (circa 2018) wanking whilst sitting next to him. Bizarrely, it seems the room was full of many fully clothed players but the one next to Saliba was almost naked seemingly watching porn. It caused a stir and was a problem largely because the young players were representing France and wearing National team tracksuits!!

All joking aside, I'm not sure anyone at Arsenal fully appreciates the size of the job which needs to be done there, much like those other legends, United.

Those players at SJP Monday night looked they just didn't want to be there wearing the shirt, and Arteta has (listening to the post match comments from Xaka) completely 'lost the dressing room' despite having signed a 3 year contract extension :ROFLMAO: . Watching them and United at the moment is the gift which just keeps giving.

Genuine question:
Is Arteta a good manager to have got 5th with a squad full of mentally weak brittle and (in some cases) pretty poor players......
Or
Is Arteta an awful manager who has seriously messed up to have not managed to get UCL with this group of talented players?

Like his team, when things are in their favour they can perform and bully lesser teams. Their issue is against teams that are either better or willing to show a bit of fight.
He has belief in his way of playing but doesn't have the imagination to deviate from it when things aren't working.
I think he trusts players he personally likes but will throw anyone he doesn't personally like under the bus. Flip side is he will back players that dont deserve it because he likes them

What amazes me is how paranoid they all are, and the immediate "the refs a ****"........the one exception is the last guy that is quite fair and, dare I say, reasonable!

I do feel a bit for Troopz - must be so tough for him in a family full of Spurs fans!

oh... that's his family?

If i was doing a live stream.... of a match and my family supported the opposition, i would have done it in a hotel room or something... but i guess the laughing and banter will drive more people to watch the stream.

If you look at the overall project he’s in 3rd year where you’d expect to see obvious improvement. And imo they have clearly failed in 2 obvious ways.

1. At best they will get 8pts more than last season. But playing once a week that’s probably the bare minimum you’d expect. Had West Ham not bad Europa this season I’d expect they’d have at least got 6-8pts more. So really they needed to get +10pts to say obvious improvement and that would have got top 4 and maybe even 3rd

2. When it came to the crunch they completely crumbled. So there doesn’t appear to be any improvement in mental fortitude.

This whole argument they are a young team is a nonsense. They haven’t been forced into this situation they chose this pathway. Nobody has ever produced an elite PL team largely based on kids with a rookie manager. How long can you trott out “ we failed but we’re young “ . They’ve chosen a failed model, the hysterical thing is they will probably preserve with it for another 2 years at least. Remember we used to get the whole Wenger youth stuff when he played kids in the carabo and absolutely nothing came of that.

He'll be itching for a move in the next 18 months if they don't get champions league football and with his contract up for renewal in a couple of years.
You can be certain Liverpool/City/United players will be tapping him up in the England camp as well

OK coach, inexperienced and seemingly not great at actually managing players.

I think they’ve had a decent season by their recent standards and overall Arteta has done ok. I think some of the praise they were getting was over the top though and their limitations have really become obvious during the last couple of matches. They did not seem mentally prepared for their match against us and Arteta’s post match interview felt like a real Keegan moment.

I think they still have a lot of potential to improve but they might find it more difficult next season especially if they end up in the Europa League. Although they could still finish above us this season I think 5th or 6th would a fair reflection of where they are at right now. I think we would be comfortably ahead of them if we had started the season with Conte.
