Misguided's my middle name buddy. I just don't see them doing much in all honesty. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something that screams they'll be no marks.

They lost to Brentford in a behind closed doors game during the week

We have problems too... If we didn't then I wouldn't be slightly concerned by them.

We have problems but some are downplaying them and perhaps rightly so but my view is, they can be costly.
We do... but we are stronger now and have had a full pre-season with Conte... and we have Conte. They have Arteta ?‍♂️ ... It's going to be close for those places behind the top two again. No doubt.

I’m actually bit worried. Sorry but it’s true. They will have learned from that failure last season and it will sting bitterly. They have added quality and their team is that little bit older.
But Arteta is still the manager. Funny thing is they probably aren’t that far off. Top level manager and 2 top level CM and I’d be worried. But they will stick with the process nonsense. Facts are Conte took a team in disarray on its knees to top 4 in 6 months buying 2 players. Arteta has had 3 years and spent a fortune.

I know it’s pre season blah blah but Arsenal do look worrying. I hate complimenting them but tbh considering they got EL not CL, their recruitment has still been very very smart.

I also like they way they’re trying to play under Arteta with high pressing and quick fluid movement, their front 3-4 look very threatening which will mean any weaknesses in their defence etc will be offset if they can dominate games and score a lot of goals, reminds me a bit of peak poch with that fluid 4-2-3-1.

I trust Conte more than Arteta as a manager and Arteta has had far longer than Conte to build something and I know the season hasn’t started yet and I know we’ve made some solid early signings but I can’t help but feel we still need a few more signings, AM & CB as we qualified for CL and should be feeling confident of really pushing on but after seeing them batter Sevilla 6-0 whilst we struggled against them and Roma it’s not really the kind of dominating performances we’d like to see from a team aspiring to start pushing City and Liverpool.

Of course there are factors to be considered there like both our wing backs coming back from injury and Kulu picking a bit of a knock pre season and as we know pre season doesn’t always mean everything and it is a long season and squad depth will come into play but I do think it’s fair to be a bit concerned about those gooners down the road at the moment given they will likely be one of our main competitors along with Chelsea for probably 3/4th.

Honestly mate, it's pre season.

I'm glad we're in physical battles, playing on shitty pitches in humid conditions.....not strolling around on our gleaming pitch whopping whoever we play.

I know which squad and manager id choose everyday of the week.

Bring on the real games now.

Agree on the assessment that they look much better than expected and firing on all cylinders at the moment. I suspect that they will be better than many of us expected because they have addressed some of their weakest positions which acts as a lever on raising the game for everyone else.

For Spurs, two things stand out. We've strengthened in most of the areas we needed to getting the same leverage affect. Second, our lads have had a partial season and full preseason under Conte. Our performance consistency should happen sooner in the season that it did last year.

Yea I get that but we both played Sevilla and had very different performances and outcomes.

Let’s see how the start of the season goes and it’s a long old season in lots of different competitions but I can’t help but feel without signing at least one extra quality attacking option and possibly another too quality CB that we are still a tad short.

It's just one pre season game though....

I know it's tempting to compare but I just see it as a bit pointless.

But yeah would be good to get another CB in

But I’m looking at the pre season as whole mate, Arsenal are scoring goals and creating chances for fun in every one of their games, we on the other hand have looked quite toothless in all of our matches.

I know it’s ‘just pre season’ and some of our players still need to get up to speed especially the wing backs and it’s a long old season but the trend overall for our pre season vs arsenals doesn’t give me as much confidence as I’d like, I think blindly ignoring preseason form and performances is a little naive tbh.

Arsenal also have a very easy first 8 fixtures so could build some good momentum.

However ofc it’s a long old season so let’s see how it plays out, I still think we can have a very strong season. just a little bit concerned that we’ve not scored many goals or looked that fluid in pre season but hopefully we can turn it on and click against Southampton and go from there

I get what you’re saying. But preseason games are less physical. Teams playing good passing football generally do ok because there is generally less dark arts going on to disrupt them.

I am very confident Conte will have us doing well once the competitive games start.

Arsenal have looked good in preseason and we shouldn’t dismiss them but I still feel their weaknesses are still there that will be shown up in full competitive games.

But it's more about putting the hard yards in and building match fitness.

We battered Roma previously (as you know) and then lost our first game with a whimper.

And I don't think we've looked really toothless just working hard in tough conditions.

Then factor in what Conte's aims are...some tactical experimentation etc...lots of changes.

I'd of preferred to see more goals as well and more fluid moves but we've been playing in some tough conditions.

Look if Arsenal get off to a flier and we drop points at the weekend looking off the pace I'll hold my hands up and concede your concerns were spot on...

But for now I'm up buzzing for next weekend.

They'll be method in Conte's madness...wait and see and never mind those lot!

Worth mentioning that Palace have looked very good pre-season too. That first match on Friday evening will give Arsenal a good sense of where they are.

Absolutely. And the mentality is so different in a pre season game...the motivation levels if you fall behind will be nowhere near as high as in a competitive game
