Has Saliba signed a new deal there yet? Wouldn't be surprised if some big clubs were circling.

Arsenal are a team no better than last season-the big difference is-the lack of injuries and other top 6 teams are not as good as they were.

I mean...c'mon that's so obviously not true.

Jesus and Saliba have obviously taken them up a level. They've been fairly lucky with injuries but they are obviously a better team than last season.

I'm very doubtful they have the character, depth or luck to keep this kind of form up all season, but if you genuinely think they haven't improved then you're deluded.

you judge my comment as them being poor last season?
They play on the edge-confidence is key for them. No team has yet challenged them mentally. Against Chelsea they were good Which I saw last season from them. Last season when they were pushed they crumbled. They haven’t been pushed yet so are playing their free open way. The longer it goes the better they become. They are not there yet.

I can't be arsed to defend Arsenal any more tbh, but you only have to watch them play and look at the table to know they've improved.

They've got half of their points tally from last season in 13 games.

This is an unprecedented season with the WC. Players are behaving in strange ways pre tournament. Post WC things should change.

Theyre a good team who are relentless in how they play, lets not be those kind of fans that we have a go at and laugh at in the 'what other fans are saying about us thread'.

What I would say is that this is a 'two season' season and momentum they had will be on a five week hiatus - that could prove a major stumbling block trying to get that back. Whereas for us we will have one or two back from injuries although they will be on world cup duty so depends on how far they go in that. Arsenal are definitely in the title race, theyre not up top for no reason... theyve beaten teams we have lost or drawn against... at the moment theyre better than us and more consistent than us but not by much. Yeah injuries have played a part but we have also made more mistakes than they have and that has cost us games - but isnt that what separates good fromt he not so good.

Im looking forward to the second half of of the season - January was the difference last season, I think it will be the same this January. Hopefully we can get one or two ready made squad additions as we did with Kulu and Bentancur and really push hard in what will be a great second half I think.

I don't think that's true. I think Jesus and Saliba have both helped and given the entire squad a boost of confidence.

I do agree that they have been largely injury-free, and it helps to rotate a bit through the mid-week Europa matches. Still a lot of season ahead. I'd like to think we have a good run of games post-WC leading up to the NLD, so we can build some momentum.

Perfect that Martinelli and Jesus have both been picked by Brazil for the World Cup... good thing ? ... I was certain they would get a break.

If France and England do as expected they meet in the Quarters.

Bye bye England.
I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised to see England go out at the group stage. But then I won’t be watching so I don’t really care either way.

Why the fuck not? It’s infinitely better than giving those ****s something to wank over.
There’s not some special award given out every year to the most objective fanbase.

They have been challenged mentally though i think. They lost to United and many thought that was it, they'd start to fall off a bit but they went and won the next 8 games in all competitions.

Liverpool equalised against them twice and they still had the mentality to go and win the game. These are all indications that they are stronger mentally. They haven't collapsed so far this season after some bad results which is what they'd usually do in seasons gone by.

The only challenge they haven't faced yet so far is injuries and that nay well change everything IF they do get some big injuries but they may well have a great January window and strengthen further.

Not even sure why this thread exists

At the very least it should be titled The Scum

I get a little queasy just popping in here

I respectfully disagree.
If we had a thread about shit dribbling prolapsed anuses, I think we'd all be grown up enough to deal with the title 'Shit Dribbling Prolapsed Anuses'.
Arsenal, like shit dribbling prolapsed anuses, is just the appropriate thread title for a thread about shit dribbling prolapsed anuses.
See, we can be mature and take the high ground on this one.

That said, we could just rename this thread Shit Dribbling Prolapsed Anuses...

So we can discuss them like adults rather than censoring their name? If you don't like a thread then why even "pop" in?

I hate this notion that if we discuss them or credit them in any way we are actually supporters of Arsenal FC. You can respect how well they are performing currently, discuss it and still hate them as a club.
