Rice is a brilliant player. I don’t think he’s the reason they’re worse than last season. It’s more so, in my opinion, that they signed Havertz who is a useless piece of shit and Lego head is too proud to dump him. That and trying to be better defensively has affected their ability to be as free flowing as last season.

Losing Partey to ‘injury’ hasn’t helped them either.

If I was an Arsenal fan I’d be thinking that despite being nowhere near as good as last season, they’re still top 4 and in the CL so things aren’t too bad. Then I’d shoot myself in the face.

Yeah I agree although I'd say they have a bit of a base to build on. Rice, Saliba, Saka can be built around. Maybe a few more.

I think this summer they needed to add a real difference maker.

A player that will win you a good amount of games.

Those players are hard to find and obtain.

But then they spent 100m on Rice and 50m on Havertz.

Why not 70m on 2 huge players that would reallt add something in terms of quality and make a difference.
Agreed. A lot of that squad, ironically, is built for someone like Conte. But their fan base have wanked themselves all over their "positional play, tactically flexible" drivel that they would have to hamster wheel their way into backing a defensive approach. Albeit they've already started to make that switch given the change in style of play from last season to this season.

Difference makers are exactly what they need but I think Arteta (and the clever, complex, intricate genius he thinks he is) will try to be too clever in his transfer targets and miss wide of the mark. So we hope at least.

Here we go again with Victim Mentality FC. Yes, losing a new signing at the start of the season to a long term injury is unfortunate. Partey is one of the more injury prone players in the league. They signed a 100m player in defensive midfield and are forced to play the same backline that had taken them 8 points clear in April last season when we are playing a back four of fullbacks.

Meanwhile, we've had an injury crisis for 10 straight league games and our entire spine of the team that was top of the league in the first 10 games will be missing our next game (VDV maybe 50/50 to start).

Has this been posted? I don’t think Keown is well. He’s acting like that Ty bloke but thinks wearing glasses and attempting a posh accent makes him intelligent. This argument is truly delusional.

I saw that earlier yeah.

The bloke lives in his own head. He desperately wants Arsenal to be held in such high regard that when something doesnt fit his narrative he gets a little offended.

He actual got a bit nasty in his time with Simon which suggests he has some emotional issue.

He is definitely an odd one.

One to be watched.

As for the Saka argument. Well Martin, you watch Arsenal more than any other team so of course you think Saka is fouled more you half evolved melted chimp

I wonder if he’s on the spectrum. He acts like a couple of kids I have worked with in the past who have been on the spectrum.. The way he argues nonsensically against both Jordan and White, and it often is nonsensical, makes me think something isn’t quite right with him. Maybe talksport know this and are taking advantage of it?

Or maybe he’s not, and has no excuse for his extremely weird outbursts. Imagine an adult choosing the entire Arsenal team in a combined 11 ‘just to ‘give my team support’.

A reminder of exactly what he said when trying to defend himself. Does this sound like the ramblings of a supposedly adult man?

The bloke is like Sol Campbell. A half wit who tries to put on some posh accent and thinks he is smart, when in actual fact he is just a bit of a moron.

I love how he always has one of those 4-coloured pens in his hand on Talksport as if they gave it to him to make him feel special.

In defence of keown, he's still a few thousand years off evolving into a homo sapien.

I listened to this yesterday and Keown immediately sounded unhinged. “He should be top”. “My interpretation…”. It’s not a subjective statistic Martin, nor is it something to aspire to.

When I started watching the video it brought to mind the scene in Spinal Tap when Nigel Tufnell is talking about the speakers. “These go to 11. That’s one higher isn’t it”.

Pathetic from Keown, half of the Saka fouls are actually dives anyway.

This new Arsenal is more detestable than they have ever been

The thing that's going to limit Saka's career is the overplaying him in every game for club and country and playing through knocks from a young age.

I really like Saka, he's a great player and I don't say that lightly about an arsenal player. Bergkamp is probably the only other one that springs to mind (both great and likeable). Ian Wright perhaps but I've grown to like him, hated him when he was playing.

but he could be done before he's thirty if not careful and if he doesn't find a manager that doesn't run him into the ground.

Take with a pinch of salt if you like but a few snippets on what’s been going on behind the scenes at arsenal.

A work colleague is friends with one of their first teams physios. We know Arteta has some previous for some strange ‘motivating’ tactics e.g. lightbulb chat & you’ll never walk alone being played around the training ground etc.

Recently, he pulled them all into a circle (players & backroom staff) and was getting them to scream/ roar at the top of their voices. Then, he wrips the shirt of his own chest whilst roaring & instructs everyone else to do the same.

Surprisingly, they all buy into it except Zinchenko who started laughing! Physio said it was a really surreal experience!

Also, Arteta went mad before Christmas when a company came into decorate their training ground interior. Instructed them to take it all down at once. Which was why arsenals youth team areas had close to 20 Christmas trees up this past festive season!

Mad as a box of frogs! 🐸

Have to give Talksport credit here. They've hit the clickbait bullseye now with Keown. They let him spout his deluded bullshit earlier on and never pulled him up on it until he'd dug himself into a massive hole that he can't get out of. Jordan and White obviously think he's a complete bellend (and probably did all along). Hopefully they keep going at him from now on when he comes out with this sort of paranoid tripe.
