Not really, it's down to the ref to feel it was a dive or not.
Sending off's would happen all the time - how many times do you see someone who has been booked for diving, who was contacted?
Exactly.Defoe last week vs Hull in the cup, taken out at knee height yet booked for diving!!
If that were the case then two or three times last season,we would've been down to ten men , when bale was being booked for it.i think Gareth was booked five or so times last season for simulation. On three of these occasions, replays show that there was contact and the booking was wrong....at least with a yellow, the ref can make a shit call and not ruin the match. It would stop if a player got sent off as opposed to just being given a yellow.
UEFA/FIFA could cure diving in an instant.....
Retrospective action is what is needed.....and they've got their nice, shiny, new panel of judges all in place so can we see the FA/EPL take some action the next time someone cheats please!?!If that were the case then two or three times last season,we would've been down to ten men , when bale was being booked for it.i think Gareth was booked five or so times last season for simulation. I think a red card could be done retrospectively,as it only really becomes obvious when it can be seen from a few angles, slowed right down.Making these decisions in real time is very tough, unless its really obvious.
How many times is this now, he is a disgrace and why are referee's still falling for his antics
didn't we sell Bale this summer?
he was never as bad as Young is now, Young feels any slight contact at all and then trips himself up
Bloody foreigners bringing diving into our good honest English league.
It's almost impossible to police in instances like this. Young did get a little tug back, so even if they'd looked at it later they would have been hard pushed to overturn the decision / punish him. Unless you want to get into the murky area of punishing players for exaggerating contact. In which case you may as well just book every player at the start of the game for simplicity.
