From today's press conference:

AVB: "At the moment Ade is not with us. We have granted him authorisation to stay up until Monday in his country for personal reasons"

"He [Ade] is not going to be involved against Norwich. Up to when I find it appropriate, he will train with the development team”

Further updates in general:

AVB said there's a "big possibility" that Eriksen will be involved v Norwich "but it's not a certainty yet". Lamela landed in UK today

AVB on Chiriches: "“We haven’t finalised his work permit yet. It’s a process that takes a bit more time – unfortunately for him.." & "He is fit, he is training and he was involved in both games for Romania, but there is the possibility we won’t see him involved”

Presume the bit about him training with the Development Squad until further notice means that he's done something wrong rather than he has got forgiveable life issues away from the pitch? If that is the case, then I'm very unimpressed indeed.

Or he's just behind with his fitness.

BIt of a grey area re: Ade.

Seems he is out of favour but what Andre said doesn't really clarify his status.
Either way, he is doing fuck all for a lot of money.

If it was genuinely just a bereavement issue I can't see why he would have to train with the kids on his return.

It's hard to see a way back for Ade from here. A preposterous situation. Gutted that those who forewarned of his signing were right!

I would think fitness as well, get him playing a couple of the U21 games for fitness like we have done with other players.
Not sure if they trained with the first team or not at that point. Im sure Sandro was training with the first team....

Ade needs to get his head back in the game quick.
I understand why we have given him time off for personal reason at the start of the season, but think he needs to be back with us now.

its been 7 weeks since we last seen him with the team. (Sunderland pre season)
Can only hope he is keeping his fitness up a little while he has been away

Seeing as I'm unable to glean with any certainty as to wether Ade has 'fallen out of favour/being sympathetically handled due to personal matters, I shall neither laud him not castigate him until I know for certain.

He's still a Spurs player and I shall support him whenever he plays.

I hope (maybe naively) that all Spurs fans do.

I don't think that means he'd be training with the development squad. If a player has been injured for a while they don't come back and train with the kids, they do light running/train on their own then join the seniors again.

The annoying thing is we need him as well, he's our plan B, Soldafoe are too similar.

I reckon it could be more of an attitude thing. His play last season didn't equate to the things he's been saying recently. I think AVB has said prove your commitment and is testing it by starting him with the development squad - seeing how his attitude holds up to that, get his mind focused.

Only my opinion mind.

Very strange,as a fan I would obviously
Like the truth.
Don't think we will get it just yet
Was hoping he would play some part
In the stupid Europa league thus gaining
Match fitness and giving others a break

I was very pleased with the fact that we ended the transfer window with 3 strikers but reading between the lines it seems likely that Ade is just there making up the numbers and we in fact have only two.

We should have bought another CF if this was to be the case and as soon as Soldado gets injured it will be proved to be a big mistake.

It's just fitness. He's missed half of pre-season with a personal issue. Ade said himself he's being put with the U21's to develop his confidence again. I presume he'll play some matches as well to get his fitness up to speed. It'll be interesting to see if he's involved in the Capital Cup.

Totally agree with your last sentence, I have spoken up in support of him many times and if he's just acting the twat, then it's annoying.

Best case scenario (football wise) is that it is a berevement/fitness issue, but you get the feeling, as ever, he won't be busting a guy to contribute.

And we do need him fit and playing.

The annoying thing is we need him as well, he's our plan B, Soldafoe are too similar.

We also needed him when he dicked around over his contract and again when he went AWOL at the ACN. Didn't seem to bother him one little bit though.
