Since nobody has answered you, say the word mourinho. Without the last bit, what does it sound like?

I am not sure if you were serious or kidding but thought I would answer.

Oh right thanks. I just thought it was a reference to someone.

Bounty Hunter sent out to track down the ones were after and bring them back? Thats him.

I also heard baldini wears a rocket pack.

and Levy has to warn "no disintegrations" when he sends him out to make to a deal?

You don't want a manager that participates in mind games? Well, I guess you don't want a top manager then.

Psychology is key to any battle. And controlling the media in the lead up to games can give your players a mental lift.

AVB has already done it in the lead up to this game by publicly praising Mata, a lovely subtle ay of heaping pressure on Mourinho.

You make a good point, although I respectfully disagree. I want a classy manager, not someone like Redknapp who feels like he has to open his gob every 2 seconds.

Well. Redknapp is about as subtle as a sledge hammer

I'm not sure why AVB felt the need to say anything about this. Maybe he's trying to divert attention away from the players so there's less pressure on them?

I guess you'd love a Moyes then... or a Rodgers. Soft as shit managers.

You guessed wrong, well at least as far Rodgers is concerned.

Anyway I didn't say I wasn't happy with AVB...I'm delighted with him. Just don't think he needs to get involved in mind games with Jose, that's all.

I'm very much a pro-AVB man.

That's my first thought. There is no need - unless to take away the tension from our players, which is straight from Mourinho's book.

I think he needs to step out of the shadow and become his own man and he feel now is the time......i like the mind games.......it ups the ante and puts Mourinho on the spot. A classic Fergie tactic. Go AVB!! (y)

I have to say having watched Mourinho's response to AVB's interviews he was very restrained but did make the comment 'I am not a kid'. LOL I love the tension thats building. This game is going to be a classico! (y)

Nothing better than a good old fashioned london derby to get emotions running high!

Finally, we have a manager who understands the mind games, and even more importantly understands what is necessary to take the pressure off the players.

We know this is a huge game, and whilst 3 points won't make or break our season, it's an important game to not lose in, especially for the fans, but even more so for the players.

Win, and the players will have even more belief - that gives you an extra 10% in your performances.

He has stopped the press talking about players, talking about the team, talking about anything other than him and JM - which is very clever. NOt in an arrogant way either, I see nothing wrong with what AVB has said - however JM's response seems to be a bit narky, almost too easy of a retaliation.

It's a nice touch, and whilst I hate that feeling of having egg on our faces (we are used to it though eh ;-)), I'm impressed with how AVB has played this.

Imagine Harry eh ;-)...

I also like the fact that AVB doesn't do that automatic respect thing too - much like every other manager used to blow smoke up |Fergies arse - fuck that, go out there and beat the fuckers, don't bother with that respect, because thats what gives the other team the edge.

"I am not a kid" is akin to his "when I was his age" comment about Paul Lambert (a good manager not too much younger than him!)

José is not wearing his age and experience with any class at all really, is he?

Aside: do we have a proper AVB chant these days? Or just "blue and white army"? Would be a good day to get one going - show off our love for him in front of his nemesis ;)
