I hope AVB doesn't bother participating in any so called 'mind games' with JM. He's too classy for that! :)

You don't want a manager that participates in mind games? Well, I guess you don't want a top manager then.

Psychology is key to any battle. And controlling the media in the lead up to games can give your players a mental lift.

AVB has already done it in the lead up to this game by publicly praising Mata, a lovely subtle ay of heaping pressure on Mourinho.

There are two kinds of mind games.

1) faking injuries so the oppo can't pick there team against you. - This is fine

2) Saying the oppo aren't really any good and not a serious challenge - Not fine

I see AVB doing 1 and Mou doing 2. Because he's a ****

This is the game I want to win more than any other this season.

This made me chuckle from 365 though, their cheeky punt!!! :

Tottenham v ChelseaMy gut feeling when I saw this fixture was home win. It was then pointed out that Spurs have won only three of 42 Premier League games against the Blues. But let's have it right. Life would be a bit pony if we all relied exclusively on stats. Are we mere statistics, as Horace implied? Born to consume resources? Are we f*ck. Sometimes you have to just roll the dice. And this is one of those times.
Betting: Tottenham to beat Chelsea at 13/8

I love the spicy sub plot to this whole game. Really hope WHL is rocking, could make the difference due to that lift it gives the players.

I think sometimes we expect people in the world of football to have an emotional relationship; why does it need to be this way? AVB worked for/with Mourinho for 7 years - the key word here is worked.

I've learned a hell of a lot from bosses before and had great relationships with them, all pulling in the same direction etc. But you don't see me picking up the phone now and wanting any kind of personal relationship with them and I'm not even directly competing with them. These two are direct competitors in the biggest football league in the world, the fact that one used to work for the other shouldn't mean they're having dinner with each other or having a laugh on the golf course in their down time.

Would have avb over mourinho all day long , avb seems so much more of a decent honest person who has learned from his mistake and willing to change, moreen just thinks his the best very big headed and way to set in his ways , so glad to have avb, the main prob is who do we replace him with when he leaves.

Guardiola! :)

To be honest, I think it's a bit more calculating than that. Mourinho is always chummy with opponents who he sees as not being threats, and then icy cold with ones who he perceives as being a threat. He was always very complimentary about us when Jol was in charge, as he knew we were limited at that time.

I don't know if AVB made a direct decision to cut the cord, but if they were still friendly he would be in a much more difficult position now, emotionally, coming up to this game and the race for top 4 in general.

I don't think there's been a change. He said at the start of the season that we are title challengers. AVB and Mourinho are both very committed to their jobs, both have families and just because one used to work for the other doesn't mean they should be mates outside of matches, nor does it mean they are enemies and there is some kind of bad blood between them. People love to believe Mourinho is that petty, but I don't see it.

It is great for BT sport marketing though.

Haha, I'm more cynical about Jose than you then. Since he's come back to the PL he's been nothing short of a disgrace with some of the bullying and belittling he's been doing. His presser today is sure going to be interesting though...

Didn't Anakin kill OB1 and help conquer the Galaxy? Levy as the Emperor, Sherwood as Grand Moff Tarkin and Baldini as Boba Fett. Cool.
Franco as the Fett? Yeah, he's one badass mofo I guess.

Loved his quotes on Mata, subtle but clear as day.

I dont pick the team there anymore but when I did I always picked Mata, or sumthign like that.

Fascinating article that. I like the idea that their falling out is over who Bobby loved most, like some spat from an old love triangle.

"I love him more"
"No I love him more"
"He said your breath smelled of Tuna"
"Well he thought your beard was too scratchy"
"He did not!"
"Did too!"

That's true, appart from Sir Bobby, some of the only deference he's ever shown, although some cynics thought it was partly because he coveted the Old Trafford hot-seat, and, a new book coming out this week suggest he took the snub of Fergie chosing Moyes quiet badly.
