Seems like AVB has caught a case of the old 'Redknapp-tongue'. Agree with what he is saying but there is no need to say it now surely? What good can it do? He should keep his bitterness to himself but it seems it is still playing on his mind when imo, he should just be concerned with his current employers. Onwards and upwards and all that?

Andre Villas-Boas says he is on the way to achieving his targets at Tottenham Hotspur and has criticised former club Chelsea for not working to a long-term project.
Villas-Boas was sacked by Chelsea

just nine months after being appointed on a three-year contract, leaving him unhappy that club owner Roman Abramovich

had gone back on his word.
The Portuguese coach says it is an easy option to change manager and he does not think Abramovich knows what is best for Chelsea in the long run.
"There are no plans at Chelsea, it's results that rule," Villas-Boas said in The Sun.
"There are times in football when it's easier to replace the coach.
"But when you embrace a project you believe in people. There was a commitment from Abramovich and his word was given.
"Yet there was a premature departure."
Villas-Boas is enjoying the stability of life at White Hart Lane, having taken charge in the summer, and is happy with the way the season is progressing.
He added: "We're achieving what we've been asked to achieve.
"We're still in the Europa League and third in the Premier League."

He was probably asked to comment on the situation at Chelsea and then the papers decided to take his responses and make them look like he'd volunteered them.

One thing he could never be criticized for is not being precise with his media interaction.

I think that the press are still trying to make him look bad but pretty much everyone else knows he was screwed over at Chelsea by RA & the Chelsea old boys

See nothing wrong with what he has said, he is a confident and obvious very intelligent guy he took a hell of a lot of flack for what went on at the chavs he has every right to say what he wants. IMO its very mild and nothing but the truth.

He's from a different planet to Harry. We should back him all the way.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

To be fair to AVB I don't think he has spoken about his former employers that much at all. He has taken a big risk in joining there big rivals and is answering the critics the right way (on the pitch), he will be asked from time to time about Chelsea and he has given an honest response.

I can't see past him giving his all for spurs to be honest

The majority of media circles had their minds made up on AVB way too early without exploring the real problems that existed for him....they have a big problem in admitting that.

I wonder what Chelsea fans think of it all. Are they happier with their beloved Benitz? Or do some of them think AVB should have been given longer?

I dont know if ive misinterpreted that but its not different to harry in that we should back any manager of ours when in a similar position. Getting the hump with a manager for indirect reasons is not the done thing. Well unless theyre a pedo or anything like that. Even curb crawling shouldnt cause fans to turn on the manager.

The article in the Sun doesn't look like he spoke to them this week or so. Slow news day - lets stir the old shit.

probably a journalist lost for a story. AVB has a right to comment anyway he chooses.

Agree, although interestingly even the more blinkered of them are realising what it is over this whole Lampard debacle.

I think Roman must be fuming about it now.Easy to say in hindsight, but AVB is obviously a great coach, and Chelsea would probably be top of the League now had he have been given the time and the funding available.
Never mind eh

Would agree with this, unfortunately there was a lot of Spurs fans who felt the same way.

In the same way I didn't really have a problem with Redknapp doing it, I don't have any issue with what AVB says in the press. It's rarely without a little bit of spin anyway when it appears in the papers.

I didn't meet many that were sad to see him go, but then again I think he's done a lot of things differently to what he did when he was there. Man management being one, he obviously learnt from his mistakes with Lampard/Drogba etc and rectified it with the Lloris/Friedel situation eg.

Those look like the comments he made right after he joined us. Every time he's been asked about Chelsa lately he's declined to comment. You can watch most of the pre/post interviews on the pressbureautv YouTube channel.
