I like his praise for the efforts of previous management and chairman, shows that he has respect for what has gone on before and that he has been selected to continue and better these efforts. he understands and appreciates the faith that has been given to him and is eager to repay it.
Personally i am not overly bothered about the use of words such as "us & we" vs the "they", think i am more interested in the squad progression and performances on the pitch. Yes AVB will be more professional with the media, but HR used his skills well to manipulate the media and it should not be forgotten that it was the media who were praising Spurs all last season and that was just as much down to HR and his relationship with them as it was with the football (which should also be credited to HR).
The subtle digs at Chelsea were pretty good, but again his (AVB's) acknowledgement of personal growth and learning is what you would expect to hear from someone who is at home in his environment, rather than the bullish approach that was seemingly required at Chelsea.
Good first interview, but whoever conducted it needs to remember that the mic should be pointed at the interviewee at least as much as the interviewer!
As are we all.
Just a very minor thing, but, still, good to see (which is all I, and, I think, anyone else, was saying)

Or in fact even turned on, or turned up to the proper level! Them clip mics can pick up pretty well even facing that way.
I hope he has a cold or something as he sounds like he smokes 60 bensons a day. Apart from that, exactly the sort of thing I want to hear, getting the winning mentality.... The last stage of the Spurs masterpiece!
I "prefer" it too if you will, it sounds more pleasing to the ear for sure and I am assuming the majority of people on here mean that when they mention it. Have read others being very "vocal" about the need for it though, which I don't overly subscribe to.
You're welcome.Thanks for posting, SG
So, no problems with speaking English, then
"...more emotional warmth...", "A club with a great tradition." Yes, Chelsea, he's NOT talking about you
Comes across well, says all the right things.
You're welcome.
The emotional warmth comment was one that leaped out to me too. It's good to see he thinks we are a step up, and I feel a lot happier about his appointment now. Hate his voice though! That is going to grate on me!
