It seems to me it was done somewhat passive aggressive to the two

Even if he does have an ok relationship with the two they'd hardly be two close people to him for him to nominate

I'd say it was probably intended to be funny but certainly with passive aggressive under tones as ways to put pressure on the two of them to have cold water dumped on them or be made to look bad by refusing to support a good cause when called out to do so

I refuse to believe its just good banter with two mates he has a good relationship with because to be honest he knows many other more famous and higher profile people in the form of players he could have nominated that would be more beneficial for the course and I'm sure he's closer to and has a better relationship with
