Doesn't fit Barca style at all though it wouldn't hurt them to start playing more up-tempo and stop passing all the time.

Sad sad news about Tito, but not surprising. Cancer is such a fucking bitch! Hope he's once again able to fight back, but something tells me it will be even harder this time.

Firstly, that job has FDB written all over it and I think he'll be very successful when he does join Barca. Secondly, now that Baldini is installed, I won't worry too much about the next manager being installed. Whether Baldini is tempted at some point to move on I think he'd at least see us right in terms of a new coaching set-up etc and the chances are Baldini wouldn't even move on so, yeah. The response from AVB couldn't be clearer either.

Relax.

Sounds to me as if he's denying it straight away. So, he can focus on his task which is Tottenham and keeping Bale.
Saying "it's not even a question" means there hasn't been an offer made, so he's not saying he would turn it down...

I think that's exactly what it means. Barca aren't Chelsea of course but he's got to still be wary of that trap. It's not like Barca are charging after him as the chosen one here, if they are even interested in AVB (and forgive me but I'll not be taking as gospel a newspaper report). The fact that their man is going through a nightmare is the reason why. It's still Barca of course but that previous experience of AVB might be a factor.

We have also, OK maybe not financially in the manner he'd like, changed the structure of the club and got the guy who AVB personally wanted. That's genuine backing right thur. £15m-£20m comes and goes. Getting in a guy that AVB made clear was the priority has got to mean something, in the short-term at least.

I found more of the quote. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8832150/? He's just being respectful to Vilanova in this difficult time for him. Still don't think he'll go anywhere. Oh, and he says Bale isn't for sale at any price.

"It's a difficult situation," Villas-Boas told Sky Sports News, speaking after Spurs' goalless pre-season friendly draw at Colchester.
"All my wishes are with Tito. If he has to resign over illness, it's not the time to speak about speculation."

I would have still liked a committal to us.

Premier League: Tottenham's Andre Villas-Boas cools Barcelona talk and reiterates Gareth Bale stance

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has cooled talk about the vacant Barcelona job and insisted Gareth Bale is not for sale at any price.

Villas-Boas emerged as a contender to replace Tito Vilanova at the Nou Camp just hours after the 44-year-old was forced to step down as head coach to continue his treatment for cancer.
But despite being among the bookies' favourites for the Nou Camp job, the Portugese boss gave short shrift to questions about his future.

"It's a difficult situation," Villas-Boas told Sky Sports News, speaking after Spurs' goalless pre-season friendly draw at Colchester.
"At this time, all my wishes are with Tito. If he has to resign over illness, it's not the time to speak about speculation.
"We're speaking about a person's health, it's not even a question."

Bale's position at White Hart Lane continues to be scrutinised, with Real Madrid and Manchester United known admirers, but Villas-Boas said the club had not received an offer for its talisman - and nor would consider one.
"No offers, no," he added. "Bale is not for sale at any price."
Bale, along with Clint Dempsey and Aaron Lennon, missed Friday's trip to the Weston Homes Community Stadium as a precaution but their manager revealed knocks would not rule them out of next week's trip to Hong Kong.
Brad Friedel, Jan Vertonghen and Emmanuel Adebayor were all included in a strong starting line-up but the Premier League side failed to find a way through.

If they make an official approach Id imagine AVB will find it incredibly hard to turn it down, and I can see him going IF Barca make an approach.
