I think he just looked a bit unfit and a bit frustrated because he was having a poor game Nothing to suggest he's unhappy.

Pretty sure it was the first time he's played two games in less than a week since that injury against Basel.

Or maybe he was just in a state of shock at seeing Ade actually turn up for once.

Yep, good point about the two games. We actually looked quite fresh considering (although it helped that Chelsea were on about their 11 millionth game of the season).

I'm of the opinion that teams are better when they play 11 million games a season. It keeps players sharp and fit, and helps build momentum. The only time it's not beneficial is when you have players who have little niggles and injuries that persist throughout the season. I think the latter is why Dembele keeps missing the odd game here or there or has to come off after an hour, as he's never fully recovered from his hip problem apparently.

Bale looked distracted and slightly miserable on Wednesday IMHO.

Not good
He didn't have a dominant game. He may have been disappointed in himself, but he gave a good effort and was committed to the team. Mountains of molehills if you think that was a sign of anything.

Further proof In todays Sun of what a **** Venables is, probably still bitter by being run out of our club by Sugar after being caught with his fingers in our till...allegedly.. , he always puts making a quick buck ahead of our interests ...And today is no different with a pathetic headline grabbing column of why Moyes should go for Bale.

I hope Bale doesn't get influenced by tools like Venners..
when our own ex's don't get behind us, than why are we suprised when wankers like Merson etc have a pop at us and spout shit like we can't keep Bale.

I have no time for Venables, and anyone who was around in the Gazza days, will know how he mishandled Paul off the pitch, Gazza was probably his best customer in Scribes, the bar Venables owned .

Still think Gareth will be off - just a feeling. Too many people will be in his ear turning his head away from Spurs with giants sums £300k pw and the like.

£130K pw....... That what José Mourinho pays his gardener ;)

If I were Bale, I'd been keen to see who AVB / Levy are looking to bring in during the summer before putting pen to paper. If they are as ambitious has they make out, then top dollar players will have to arrive in order to satisfy Bale that his aspirations can be achieved here.

I'm sure Bale would like to stay, but he's also hungry for silverware. If we add another load of Dempsey's and Holtby's to the squad then he'll be considering his future elsewhere.
If I were Bale I'd sign the new contract regardless - he's already tied up for a good few years so its not a matter of being able to force a move via contract length.

He might as well take the pay rise now and be in the same position regarding a move i.e. only a huge offer will tempt Levy

I'd love to know the ball park figure that Levy would sell for. I suspect it's a lot less than people would hope for. 35m plus a few add-ons would get him I think.

Start at £50m! Then add £30m for a UK based club.

but I can think of three clubs that can afford those sums

In my head that sounded reasonable. Evidence that I shouldn't post after indulging in the forbidden fruits of Mary Jane. How about his, how would everybody feel if Real Madrid came in with 35m + Modric? All hypothetical of course. I couldn't see Modric wanting to come back here nor could I see Madrid wanting to offload him. Still, would it be beneficial for the squad as a whole do you think? 35m could get us our world class striker with some change, plus it would see our lack of creativity in the middle of the park resolved. Sandro, Dembele, Modric as a midfield 3 actually makes my member twitch.

He'd be crazy to sell for anything less than 50. The exposure and sponsorship opportunities alone with one of the top 3 players in the world is reason enough not to sell.

It would be important for Bale to sign sooner rather than later. When the adrenalin ebbs in the off season is when his head can be turned.

Apparently Bale is in the process of building himself a new house, right next to Daws....possibly not the actions of a man about to leg it.

I think Levy should start at 60mill and add 10mill for every single enquiry, teams will soon give-up.
