I think the point some people are missing with a potential sale of our top stars is not the fact they are irreplaceable as the club will always move on and the next fans favourite is just waiting around the corner.

The main issue with any potential sale of Bale is that it completely sends out the wrong message of where this club wants to go. Bale is now a recognised talent worldwide after his performances in the Champions League this year and could possibly go down in years to come if he stays injury free of being one of the all-time great left-sided players. We can't be seen to looking to offload this calibre of player to the highest bidder as we need to be bringing players of similar or as good as quality to supplement the likes of Bale, Modric, VdV etc.

I think with the current wage structure, players will move on as their notoriety
Improves and there agents whisper. Levy is dead right to try and fight to get us into a bigger stadium.

Someone mentioned us sharing the ground with the scum, You know I would agree to this if it meant we could afford to keep our best players.

 - We need to keep Bale at least for one more season. Use his name to bring in players of a similar standard and then sell him for big money if he asks for a move. The really smart thing to do would be to buy another winger this summer and give them a year to adapt to our league while Bale is still here. Someone like Alexis Sanchez would be my first choice (although may-be not too realistic).

I would deal at £35m+Berbatov

Our form when Bale was injured was better than when Bale returned so we can manage without him

Im not sure we will have much choice of Bale in th future, I reckon that we will have a massive bid in the summer! It will all come down to how effectively Levy gets rid of the dead wood. I suspect he will do one of his package jobs to Sunderland again.. 3 for the price of 2 deal.

If we consider that
keane
ohara
bentley
One of the there main strikers
Gio
Hutton

Will be on the block..

Levy will want more than 8 million for Hutton, 5-8 million for Keane 10+ for bentley, 5 + for Gio and 5 for Ohara.. and may be 10 for pav

he your looking at brining in 41 million which would not impact the current squad solve the CL short full and provide 20 in the kitty to buy someone else.

If king or / and Woodgate retire thats another 2 to 5 million saved..

Based on this he would easily not have a need to sell anyone from the current first 11..

IT WILL BE THE AGENTS that will change the climate, by getting Bale to Pout!

The same agents that got him to "pout" at Southampton probably.

Works both ways.

Bale is a special talent, but if selling him meant we could buy two top quality strikers, then I'd be more than happy for Modric or Kranjcar to cover the left hand side. I actually think it'd make us a better 'team'.

With 40 million for Bale, plus the money from the other dead wood in the squad we could build a serious squad for next season. Don't get me wrong Bale is special and I'd love to hold on to him but losing him wouldn't be the end of the world. Losing Modric however is a different story...

That would greatly depend on who followed him out the door. We simply can't sell any of our prize assets to prevent a potential mass exodus.

cant believe people seriously wanting us to sell bale.. fuck sake whats the point if we continue to sell our best players, seriously. whats the point. this year bale. next year someone one else. year after that.. all this nonsense of 40 million for bale plus money from the deadwood in squad!! jesus.

bottom line folks and idiots on here who think getting money for bale and putting our even better player out on left to replace him is just plain nuts.. no wonder as a club we are considered bit of a joke still..fact he is welsh and uk based lad makes all this talk madden me more. it might be different if he is a foreigner and big moeny to seel back home but if YOU SELL YOUR TOP PLAYERS YOU WONT TO BE TOP TEAM.END OF.

nice that he still has a few years to run on his contract, so if he wants to leave then its going to cost some club an awful lot of money, will have to be abroad as i cant see united shelling out 50 million and he wont move to city nor do i think they'd want him. so that would soften the blow if he left in the summer, which he wont anyway, its just the press assuming he is too good for us

But with profit and money from CL plus Keane, O'Hara, GDS, Bentley, at least one of our strikers and probably Hutton to sell, plus either one or both of Woody and Ledders to trim from the wage bill, why on earth do we need the £40 million (or whatever) to add to our squad? We only need a couple of players to be serious challengers and we will have the money to get them without selling him.

Id sell bale IF, we agreed a deal for Marin/Menez/Banies/Adam Johnson/Cazorla /Afellay/Vargas which was for around £10-£15m for either of these players before we sold Bale for £40m plus.

But we won't need the money in order to continue team building...so why?

What ever we get for any of our players dead wood or otherwise it won't change our wage structure which has been the biggest problem (I do aggree with the wage structure and the way the club is run financially!)

Do people not realise that we have the money to buy a top striker. It's the wages we can't afford!!

I think as sad as it may be we need to let woody and king go this summer. The reported £60k a week for each of them is far too much and that money could be much better used. With the sales of Dos santos, bentley, O'Hara, keane, Defoe, and possibly Pav, as well as many of the other fringe players we would free up lots of wages and bring in cash for transfers but it seems that players such as gallas have top earner clauses which would cause a problem.

Whatever Modric would want (I know he recently got a new contract) we should give him, easily on of the top 3 midfielders in the prem and would be a disaster if we lost him
