He might want to stay, but I don't know whether he's worth the wages we're paying him to be honest. He's deadwood in our team at the moment, and I'm sick of him only scoring 3 goals against Inter when we're clearly 4-0 down. What the fuck does he think we're going to do to get that other goal?! Can the lad not count to 4?

Totally agree - totally over-rated. His free kicks have been shocking recently. He beat a 37 year old for pace and everyone goes mental - ridiculous! Also looked pretty out of breath after his 3rd - probably not training hard enough.

If we all say this the other clubs might believe us...

Let's not all go weak at the knees when a player says he's happy at Spurs again. Come on, been here before.

End of the day, he will stay at Spurs as long as it's a mutually beneficial arrangement, no more no less. If he's clever, he can become a legend at Spurs before he's 24, and still have the best years of his career at bigger, trophy-bothering clubs here and abroad.

Let's enjoy him while he's here rather than worrying about when he won't be

Spurs are on the up, he gets 90 mins every week, he's getting better and better with every game, he's only a kid so why would he want to go anywhere else?

Nice to hear. I hope he can see the constant improvements we're making season after season, and decides this is the place he wants to play. It's up to us in the next two seasons to prove were worthy of having such a fantastic talent.

he went to spurs and not man utd because he would stil be a sub at man utd. we bought him for sell on value, this player loyalty thing is bullshit.

here's a thought gareth: man city, 30 minutes drive home, best players in europe and 200k a weeks wages, er let me think...

Credit it to him for saying what he did........

but things change... if we don't keep improving,he will be tempted in the future.

every player has his price.....unfortunately...or in some cases fortunately.

with clubs like man shitty able to offer silly money and wages...no one is safe.

The bold part ist the key. If players see the club is going in the right direction, lets say like buying quality van der vaarts or top strikers in jan or in summer, the player will see that he has a perspective at this club. Best example should be rooney, if rumours are true of course. Even ManU cant hold their best players if they dont see the club progressing in the next years.

If we keep improving and he sees us attracting more players of VdV's quality, he won't want to go anywhere.

That's how I see it. The onus is on the board and Redslapp to keep bringing top notch players here.
