HIs very own words, get in!

Spurs' determination to hang onto their prize asset will be almost certainly tested when the transfer window reopens, especially after Inter president Massimo Moratti confirmed his interest in the 21-year-old sensation following Wednesday night's Champions League clash at the San Siro.

But Bale believes there is no better place than White Hart Lane for him to continue improving, crediting manager Harry Redknapp for his transformation from club jinx to hat-trick hero in just two years.

Bale's early Tottenham career saw him play a record 24 Premier League matches without being on the winning side. But Redknapp's decision to move the Wales star from left-back to left wing has made him one of the most sought-after young players around. Spurs rebuffed an approach for Bale during the last transfer window and it would be no surprise to see an avalanche of mega-money bids in January.

Bale is refusing to contemplate plying his trade anywhere but White Hart Lane, saying in the Evening Standard: "I don't read into anything said about me. I am just happy playing week in, week out for Tottenham and learning my football here. I am happy and I want to keep playing. I don't take any interest in what is written about me because I think it's best to keep your feet on the ground, go to training and learn and also learn in the games every week.

"Hopefully, there is still a lot more to come from me. I am still young and still learning and I want to keep getting better and better. That's all I want to do. The manager has given me the chance to play and I am grateful for that. In training, we have worked on things and more things are coming into my game. I just want to keep playing every week because that is the most important thing - that's when you learn the most."

Credit it to him for saying what he did........

but things change... if we don't keep improving,he will be tempted in the future.

every player has his price.....unfortunately...or in some cases fortunately.

with clubs like man shitty able to offer silly money and wages...no one is safe.

I liked his disgusted look when the crass ITV interviewer started asking him about his transfer fee going up.

Sad thing is though, it won't stop. I can't imagine the media are smart enough to realise that this is not only the best place for him now but potentially, Real Madrid and Barcelona aside, there'll be no more attractive club to play for than us in the near future.

He doesn't actually say he wants to stay though, does he? Just that he's happy to be playing week in, week out and is grateful to the manager.

I'm confident he'll stay, though. He doesn't strike me as the money grabbing type of player and does seem genuinely happy to be a Spurs player.

It's refreshing for all us fans hear Gareth say the above as it's music to our ears that he's happy and enjoying playing for Spurs and provided we continue to match his ambition with our own there's no reason why he should leave us for more $$$$$ or a so called bigger club
He also includes 'Arry in many of his quotes as being the person who gave him the chance to play and I sense there is a strong bond between the two of them.

Get in, well for now anyway :)

I guess it also depends on if we can stay in the CL next season!

I agree didnt Redknapp give him his debut when he was at Southampton?

I think we should treat him to 45 mins of the "BALE, BALE, BALE" chant against everton on saturday.

Bit pessimistic but he mentions learning 5 times!! Maybe when he's learnt a bit more he might jog to Real Madrid!!
To be fair he looks amazing and noone will begrudge him joining one of Europe's elite in about 5 years time. Unless we are one by then of course....

He singed a new contract in the summer. He seems happy to me, in my opinion...(based on nothing more than assumptions and my own wishes) he seems like a rather down to earth lad. He's been with us quite a while now and we are the club that have developed him to this level. I have a feeling our gareth will turn out to be one of those loyal footballers....a dieing breed.

Mind you.....after the rooney shit nothing would supprise me.

For what its worth, the only deal that id even be tempted to take would be either MEGA money from man city (50m+). Or if a foreign side came in for him.... maybe Real madrid (Benzema +20m).

Harry can only go on what a player does on a football pitch and prior to the BAE injury he'd hardly taken his chances with both hands. Everybody knew he had potensial but he just wasn't performing.

Thats all in the past now anyway, im happy that at present we own the best LB/LM in the world.

BAE was going to the ACN anyway, and redknapp made it clear Bale would play in his absence, It was going to happen anyway.

sorry but it doesn't say anything about him staying for the love of the shirt. All is says is that CURRENTLY he is happy at Spurs. If his agent gets a call from a Real or City representative offering to make him richer than Tom Jones then i'm sure his head will be turned. I'd love to keep him but we will lose him, Modric and VDV in the next 24 months unless we get regular top 4 finishes and show signs of title challenges - they are simply too good to wait it out in a nearly team. That is the reality, this set of quotes means nothing.

Ahem...Sol Campbell...what people say today means nothing tomorrow

Exactly this. The next couple of yrs could set this club up for the next decade if played correctly. We keep progressing, and at this point the progression doesn't have to be huge each yr as it needed to be 5 or 6 yrs ago, and we have a very good chance of not only keeping players but actually becoming a force in English football. They go hand in hand.

Honestly, thank fuck we didn't sign Fabiano. We need the temperament to go along with the talent now. Can't take a risk which could destabilise things more widely.

I reckon he’ll stay for a few more seasons.

The media always go into transfer-rumour overdrive when players from clubs outside of their pre-determined ‘Big Four’ start to perform (in the last five years think Carrick, Berbatov, Keane, Modric, Lennon). However the club is now seriously going places under Redknapp and has one of the best squads in the league, whereas clubs like Liverpool and United have lost a lot of power.

You just watch, Van Der Vaart will return from his suspension at the weekend, tear up Everton, and then they’ll all be dicking over him instead. Same story with Defoe when he comes back from injury, and Lennon and Modric when they start playing like they did last year.

Sign of a good team. I’m not worried.

He might want to stay, but I don't know whether he's worth the wages we're paying him to be honest. He's deadwood in our team at the moment, and I'm sick of him only scoring 3 goals against Inter when we're clearly 4-0 down. What the fuck does he think we're going to do to get that other goal?! Can the lad not count to 4?
