Exactly. Match winning goals against the goons and chelsea.

Arguably our best player in the tail end of our CL qualifying season.

Has continued his form with amazing performances at the start of the season. Many great performances.

Voting done in January/february when he got injured and his form dipped slightly.

In 2010 he was amazing.

Fully deserved IMO (Although Vidic has a strong case)

How anybody can argue against this win is beyond me.

Can we not just keep this thread as a celebration to one of the most exciting players the premiership has seen in recent years, who just happens to be playing for our club?

I understand some of us think that Modric should have ben nominated, but he hasn't so lets all celebrate the fact that Gareth Bale, Tottenham Hotspur FC player has won the PFA player of the year.

No we can't. We must find a way to make this event a dark day in Spurs' history. One of the darkest in fact. Not because we think it will lead to something, but because we think he doesn't deserve it. That Vidic should win it, a player who gets skinned by anyone with more pace than Corluka.

Fact is people, Bale, in the space of 12 months, has gone from about to be loaned out to Forest, to the most sought after winger in the world. He's gone from little known welshman to global superstardom. He's torn apart some of the best defences out there, and has become a household name. And he's such a nice dude!

No one deserves it more than Gareth. Yes, the main reason he's won is probably that there wasn't really another major candidate for the award like other years, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been overwhelmingly voted for by his fellow pro's.
