To be honest I thought it was pretty greedy of him not to roll that ball to Siggi who was breaking a gut to get into the box in oceans of space, not a defender in sight. In fact it was so simple and Bale definitely saw him, just slide it across to him and he picks his spot with ease, he scores for sure.

I felt for siggi there to be honest. It was such the obvious choice.

But there were 2 defenders in between Bale and Sigg.. Whether Gylfi was free or not, it would have taken a ball threaded between 2 defenders or perfectly lifted over them.. neither a gimme and more likely to hand them a chance of a counter .. I think he made the right choice

There was loads of time for him to pick that pass before the two defenders narrowed the angle, I mean plenty of time and space to do it.

Siggi was most definitely free, oceans of space. Once Bale had elected not to he had to continue on himself - the chance to roll it to Sig was well gone by that stage.

Possibly, but at pace and needing to make split second decisions..

This just all seems a little nitpickingy to me. Im sure we could list dozens of times a game when a player doesnt pick exactly the right option at exactly the right time.

I mean Adebayors goal against the Chavs was a waste of a good break if it had flown over.... I think if a player has a decent chance to score then they should take it.

I take the point, we all do. Nobody is perfect and no player always makes the right decisions but Bale is nearing a level we haven't seen for some time in a Spurs shirt. Even fat Ronaldo occasionally fluffed a one-on-one...

Not possibly from where I was sitting, I was very surprised he didn't put it on a plate for Sig. He had the time and the space to do it.

Yes nit picking in the grand schemes of things considering the season Bale has had but looking at in isolation the correct decision was the pass, without a doubt.

I don't think it was a decent chance for Bale given the two players he had to beat, the pass to Sig was definitely on before they close Bale down - then the chance to pass is gone and he has to take them on which meant he had a huge amount to do before getting into a good goal scoring position.

Its not like Bale was free charging down on goal without having to beat others - that would be entirely different.

Anyway its not a big deal really, I just thought the pass was so obviously on I was surprised he didn't choose that option.

I guess I just wanted Sig to score!
