It will all blow over. It's just the media looking for something to write. Even the great Zidane was booed at points on his Madrid career.

Gareth is true class and this will always shine through. Such a shame he left us, especially for those scumbags.

Probably only five or six clubs that could even get close to the money required to buy him, and we ain't one of them.
I fully expect Utd to push hard for him in the summer, and it disgusts me to think of him playing there.

Didnt Levi offer him £200,000 a week to stay??

If you add up all the wages of players we don`t want anymore (Kabul, Adebayor, Soldado) we could probably afford him as with our young players coming through and a few careful additions with Bale we could challenge for the league title I believe...

I don't remember reading anything about 200k p/w...and what about a fee? You think Real are gonna let him leave on the cheap after spunking €100m on him 18 months ago?
Optimism taken to a whole new level mate.

It seems like the media here & in spain in some parts want to see Bale fail, which is shocking really, i think the media here just want him back in the EPL and seemingly at United...which would make me sick.

I hope he goes on to have a very successful career in Spain, hope he one day returns to the Prem and that club is us...

well I think they still owe us most of the money so lets call it quits and have him back didn't want us to sell him anyway :)

We could sell Capoue, Paulinho, Lennon, Chiriches and Soldado to help pay for it..

He's been pretty lazy this season.
He's always been lazy and likely to switch off when defending. Decision making was not always spot on too. At a club like ours his genius meant things like this were overlooked most of the time, but at Real these is no hiding place, they want perfection.

He'll work it all out though. The guy has the appetite for self-improvement.

easy target for the price they paid for him. and to be clear, he is a 'world class' player, but by no means is that much better than the likes of: Ronaldo, Modric, Suarez, Sanchez, Neymar, Aguero, Mueler, Lewandanski, Ibramovich, Messi, Hazard, Iniesta, Robben, etc... Yet, he costs more than all of them. which makes him the sore thumb that sticks out. the price they paid is not commiserate with his actual skill set. don't get me wrong, he is a fantastic player that nearly every team in the world would want... but he's not any better -- in my opinion -- then those mentioned above.

Ronaldo was 10x worse than Bale this weekend

This. And was the subject of the majority of the press attention, mainly by virtue of his birthday party timing.

I really hope Bale succeeds out there...too few British players go abroad and do well, and after he provided us with such joy whilst in his time here, it's churlish to want him to do otherwise. He also seems like a decent bloke, which is a rarity amongst footballers nowadays.

Problem is, his direct rival at Barca is Neymar, Bale was bought in response to Neymars. ATM Neymar is shitting all over Bale (stats wise) and the Madrid fans don't like it.

I lived in Madrid in 2004 and I can confidently say that Real Madrid have the most idiotic, self entitled, arrogant and impatient set of fans in World football. I found it staggering.

Also, the majority of them knew absolutely nothing about teams not in the Champions League (even from the big European leagues) and had no desire to know about them unless Madrid wanted to buy one of their players.

In short, the Madrid fans are morons!!

I kind of thought that the idea of him coming back here was a bit tongue-in-cheek.

Mostly, but I definitely detect some "what if?" posts and pipe dreaming. :). The best we can hope for is he stays there or goes to Utd or City if he has to return.........

......unless of course we get taken over by some rich arabs........ hmmmm,.... pass me the rizla :woot:

I would rather get 300,000 a week, play with some of the best players in the world, score a goal in the champions league final and get a winners medal than play with Kane, Dembele, Walker and others in the league cup final against Chelsea, just being honest.

The problem with Real Madrid is Cristiano Ronaldo. He is god to their entire fan base and that's understandable. However, Bale has rightly decided he's gonna make a name for himself, even if he has to upset the greasy haired one in the process.

Bottom line, Bale won them two finals last season and was absolutely glorious for a player adapting to an entirely new way of life, style of football and pressure of a world record transfer fee. I would challenge any player to cope as well as he has since he joined them.

Sadly though, he has occasionaly stolen a free kick (even though he probably has a better conversion rate) and not passed to the messiah when he could have (despite being in a better position to shoot himself) it has caused uproar amongst the fan base. Beyond that there is this idea that he doesn't defend enough but quite honestly he's 2nd only to Ronaldo in terms of his attacking ability so should be given far more slack than he has been so far.

I fully expect him to power through the criticism in the same way that Modric has and will play for Madrid as long as he feels he wants to. One day, maybe in his late 20's, early 30's he might find his way home but I certainly won't be expecting it to happen.
