I can see what @Dharmabum is saying. It is possible for the ball boys to stop the flow of the game for a particular side. And you could get round it by having the Premier League or whoever hire people to do the job instead. It wouldn't cost much each game so it's not a ridiculous idea, but I just don't think it's necessary. There are so many on the field ways to interrupt sides that it just feels like overkill to look at this.
