Some people suggested that Sneijder didn't get on with RVP, well he voted for the latter as No.1

That defence is the worst part IMO.. Ramos is not a CB.. Marcelo the best left back in the world? Do me a favour..

Also based on 2012 I'd have RVP over Falcao..

Hmm well casillas doesn't deserve to be in there, Buffon or Cech would have been a far better choice.

Other than that I would have put Kompany, Hummels or Thiago Silva for Pique, Pique didn't have a strong year last and is clearly on there on reputation. Don't know why people are questioning Ramos who has been utterly superb for both Real Madrid and Spain, as for Marcelo he was outstanding for Real Madrid so what's the problem?

Oh and I'd have Pirlo over Xabi Alonso, don't understand that one TBH (?!)

Van Persie/Falcao/Ibra you're splitting hairs although I can see why Falcao got the nod because of his performances in the Europa Cup final and the Super Cup final.

The worst selection out of that lot is Daniel Alves IMO. I appreciate there isn't a great deal of competition but that is a definate reputation rather than merit selection.

BALLON D'OR

Here's the full Fifa/FIFPro World XI:

Goalkeeper: Iker Casillas
Defenders: Dani Alves, Gerard Pique, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo
Midfielders: Xabi Alonso, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta
Forwards: Lionel Messi, Radomel Falcao, Cristiano Ronaldo

Load of bollocks. Shit defence.

Casillas is over-rated, has been for years. Buffon or Neuer would be my choice.

Dani Alves is not the best right back, Lahm is.
Pique is quality so no grudges there but I'd have preferred to see Kompany or Thiago Silva. Chiellini deserves a shout. Ramos is over-rated and not a CB.
Marcelo is good but Ashley Cole is better (hate having to admit that).
Pirlo > Xabi Alonso. Any day of the week.

Apart from that it's all good. I'd have Cavani in there but Falcao is also worthy.

Del Bosque is a good coach but he can't exactly fail with that team and I think Prandelli deserves credit as he's made Italy good again, building his own team in the process (shame he just messed up in the final). Jurgen Klopp and Antonio Conte for club level have been immense.

Seriously, do only Spaniards get to vote?

You know, anything FIFA connected these days has an element of complete farce to it. For Lahm and RVP to not be in the team is ridiculous. It's all daft, but I'm sure they all got a nice dinner out of it....

Have to agree with most of that.

Honestly the team was a joke (obviously can't knock Messi getting the individual award!). Wasn't Pique injured half the year? Agree with Lahm. I probably would have put Kompany in there and Pirlo as well. As its based on a calendar year then surely RVP over Falcao.

And not a single Spurs player

This one has really shown this honor to be totally worthless. Sure some of those players deserve to be there. And yes all are greats. But Buffon, Reuss, van Persie, Kompany, Prlo, Hummels and Neymar are a few names that should have been considered. I imagine the repercussions of this will be a bit more than FIFA expects as a large portion of fans won't pay it any heed in the future.

I would have Kompany in there and Yaya for Pirlo but that's a good team
