What happens if City say we will pay £10m more than Barca's highest offer?
They can afford it and a player with such a long contract should not be able to determine where he goes.

If they get £40-£50m for him and Wenger spends it wisely it could very well improve their side. Depends suppose on how hard Barca are willing to push for CF. I wouldn't be that disappointed if he stayed, then they would have both him and Arshavin, pissed off and bleating to the press.

Did it?! Darren Bent and Roman Pavluchenko in that first season were shaft. We had to bring JD and RK back in to save us!

Wenger is astute however and won't spend recklessly. The annoying thing is he has Wilshire and Ramsay waiting in the wings.

They're not near his league. I personally don't think they will ever be nearly as good as him, but even if they do come near to his ability it will take a good 3-4 years of regular football.

it was a 35 million euro bid(info straight from txiki begiristain) it has been turned down.

Another offer will come in next 48 hours. Barca can afford no more than 45 mil euros unless, Toure and/or Ibrahimovic are sold.

Looks like it wont get done until Rosell is president on June 13th

Wilshire No

Ramsey Yes....well depends how he is when he comes back from injury. But the kid looks class for his age.

I reckon Arsenal would rather sell him abroad than strengthen Man City like that, especially for just £10m.

Also nothings forcing him to goto Man City.

He can just dig his heels in and say he wants to goto Barca. As all clubs say its better to sell someone than keep an unhappy player.
