First quotes from Becks up on the HateMail

When I'm out walking
I strut my stuff
And I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite
I just might stop to check you out.

I know he's famous beyond reason, but how does it benefit the Club financially? Obviously if we signed him, shirt sales in the Far East where they're mad. But on loan for a month at best, how can that help us? I fail to see how appearing on the Chinese or Australian news helps us?

It makes the club more recognisable internationally. Although we have alot of history which makes us well known in England and in Europe we are not a massive club internationally compared to the likes of United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. Anything that raises that international profile will bring financial benefits for the club even if they don't seem immediate.

Just getting the Tottenham name out there.

Just getting general people in other countries outside of Europe to hear the Tottenham name is a big step. Let alone to be able to name one of our players (even if he's not really).

And people are taking in the media crap if they think Beckham couldn't do a job for us. Milan fans thought it was a publicity stunt when they got him on loan but by the end they loved him. He still has a hell of a lot of quality in terms of final ball. Even for a short spells at the end of the game he would offer us something.

I you can't see how international exposure helps us then you aren't playing with a full deck.

Yep I don't doubt that he could still offer something. Needs to make sense from a footballing perspective though. If it's only for a few games it's not worth taking up the squad place etc etc.

For what it's worth I'll be surprised if he ever actually players for us. If it was going to happen he'd have needed to be in the squad at the start of January and ready to play. As it is he's not registered at the moment and not fit (according to Harry) so the loan deal simply wouldn't work and I just don't see us buying him.

Spurs were on the news in Italy yesterday because of Beckham. I had two Chinese work colleagues asking me about Tottenham this morning. Say what you like about Beckham's current ability but he definitely is going to help Spurs become more 'global'.

Agreed I ive in Nowheresville China... this has upped our recognition levels to a similar extent that tonking Inter Milan did

I have an uncomfortably Beckham obsessed housemate, he absolutely loves the dude, not a spurs fan mind you. What he's been hearing is the following.....

Posh is looking to make waves in the fashion industry over the next few years and so has been eager to be back in London in order to help establish her label amongst other things.

They also obviously now have a 4th child on the way as well which means that being in one place for a sustained period of time would be preferable and beneficial to their lives. Becks has also enrolled his boys at a local private school too I think he said and with his contract being up at Galaxy in November, it has been speculated that he may look to buy himself out of his current contract or something along those lines in order for him to stay at Spurs much longer term.....possibly 18 months, something like that.

Let me be clear, this is NOT ITK, just general speculation based on some heard info (the stuff about posh) so maybe worth considering is all.

We should charge LA Galaxy a fee for getting him fit for the American League.
