Rumours that he's interesting Roma, Lazio and Inter.

Didn't play as much as expected - more in the cups than PL and generally played ok without too many convincing appearances. Very much doubt if he will be one of the first out but given he seemed to struggle with speed and intensity its possibly a toss up whether we want to keep him in the belief that he'll adjust in his second season or whether we decide we want to upgrade in that position - perhaps adding more experience to a relatively inexperienced set of players in Mason, Bentaleb, Carroll and Alli

Our players always seem to be linked with a move to Serie A, but it never happens. The league doesn't have much money, so I suspect that may be why.

I know it's only his first season but he barely makes the bench on league days and isn't likely to improve a shed load, with the sheer amount of young talent we've got coming through if he was part of a mass clear out in cm to enable us to bring in an experienced high quality player to guide the youth, I'm all for it tbh.

If he proves me wrong it's win win all round

Lets let him go where he should have gone, Marseille, and take Thauvin in exchange, (obviously we'd need to chuck some cash in too).

We absolutely need a solid DM who fits the system and can play when it makes sense tactically. If Poch thinks Stambouli is or can become that player, then we shouldn't listen to any offers. If not, and there is a better player who we can bring in, then it makes a lot of sense for Stambouli to go, both for him and for us.

Not really keen on selling him. I would have him in the squad in front of Dembele whose tackling has been poor this season.

Really hoping it's a case of giving him time to settle in and next seaosn he can start making an impact. He has the skilset we need, just hope he;s good enough and able to adapt to the Prem.

His interviews have always shown a good level of dedication and desire to succeed.

Squad player. Unlikely to get much pitch time. Looks to lack a little pace. I thing we paid £4.4M for him. Levy will take a profit. We need a clear out before we can upgrade and with so many quality youth players coming through there's little room for squad fillers. He wouldn't be my 1st choice to cull but as Adebayor shows you can't always get rid of the players you want to. If there is a decent offer it's best for all concerned if he moves on.

Pointless signing. Frustrating that we buy 3 players rather than buying 1 x £20m player because we think it's cheaper.

We pay more in wages.

£10m Capoue, £17m Paulinho and £4.4m Stambouli

Or 1 decent player like schierderlin.

Having said that, James Ward-Prowse looks a very good player if we miss out on schierderlin.

Him and Cabaye with mason, Bentaleb and Alli would be a very good midfield.

Isn't that what we did with Soldado?

I think we need to stop worrying about transfer fees. We need to concentrate on identifying the right player then getting him. Sometimes you get good value such as Lennon, Carrick and Bale and other times you take more of a risk such as Berbatov and Modric.

Too early to give up on him yet.

Agreed. I don't think he'll take the league by its balls and become a nailed on starter for us, but he's done well enough to show that he can be a decent squad player. He might surprise us and get a lot better over the summer, it's so hard to say with some players, but I don't think he's been that bad that we need to shift him.

I think a few of our buys from the summer before, like Capoue and Paulinho, will make way first as, a) they've been here longer, and b) they've not made any more of an impact than Stambouli has.

The only way we'll sell him is if Poch really disagrees with him and we end up doing a big overhaul of our centre mids.

I thought I read somewhere that it was felt he wasn't fit enough for the Prem and that he was on some sort of super fitness regime which was stopping him playing. Might of course be a load of old cobblers but that would at least make more sense than the usual player trading nonsense.

Hopefully this is where our revamped scouting system with Mitchell, Mackenzie and Broomfield come in handy for us.

He's been with us since August! :confused:Now that's what you call a super fitness regime, Poch style!
