Do we really think we can sign him this month for less than we offered in the summer?!

Peace comes across as stubborn as Levy - is he going to make himself look a right plonker by selling SB for under £20m?

I sincerely hope we're looking elsewhere, as Sunday was a glimpse of the rest of our season if Kane gets injured, and it wasn't pretty.

What's best is we sign someone else this window, and have an understanding with Saido that we'll definitely sign him in the summer. He'll reject any other move in the meantime.

Doesn't sound like any other club is looking to match our offer.

Not sure many chairman would choose to lose millions over saving a little face.

Forget all that attitude bullshit,
he will be a good signing.
When Merson said we should avoid I knew he was the man for us.

I'm wary of him and don't think he's worth the money, but I trust in Poch and that is more important.

This might be a silly comment but why is Saido Berahino worth any more money than Andros Townsend? I don't know the stats but they have both represented England at all levels (has Berahino played for the full team) similar age 22/24 and neither are getting in the first team) maybe a few mil difference but people are taking 12m for Townsend and 22/24m for Berahino. Doesn't make sense to me

Striker premium. Always more expensive

And Townsend's Townsend

West Brom chairman may feel that at the mid way point he doesn't need Berahino to ensure survival and so is willing to let him go. That would make the decision not to sell last summer but sell now a more rational one.

Mixed feelings about this guy. In the last transfer window I was all for bidding 20m and getting the deal done. Now I think his price has gone down but the talent is still there maybe Poch can get it out of him. I don't think West Brom will sell him at a sane price which means we either go back later or get someone else. We need a striker now, Kane needs back up.

It'll be fairly easy to construct a deal that includes £10 million worth of increasingly unlikely add-ons to allow Peace to claim that Spurs have met his original valuation... ;)

Could someone put me right here . I was under the impression that Berahino is out of contract with WBA in the summer .

If he's gonna cost 20 mill now then I must be mistaken.

Surely that's what he did in the summer? SB's stock was unlikely to get any higher than then.

Or just say it's an undisclosed fee. Peace will probably end up telling the world that we paid £25m for him, when we paid £15m, but who cares?
