I've just read an interview with Berbatov that he would like to return to Premier League and I've started to wonder if it's a good idea to bring him to Spurs. And i think it is.

He knows the league. He knows Spurs. He knows how to win a title. He is one of the best striker that league has ever seen. His experience is huuuuuge and the impact he could make to our young team could be priceless. He knows he is not a youngster any more so he probably wouldn't complain about siting on the bench. Kane and Janssen could learn so much from him. Haveing three strikers is not a bad idea, he could still give us something on the pitch. He's a free agent, 35 years old so he's wage isn't an issue I think. Of course he would probably need maybe a month to get match fit.

And as I can't see that happening I would be very happy if we make a move. I think we can only benefit from it.

What dou you think?

If it was even remotely likely to happen it would have done when he went to Fulham when he was only somewhat past the peak of his powers

not 2 years later when he's playing his football in Greece with a 1 in 4 goal ratio

Berbatov was/is brilliant, but he's one of the laziest players on the planet. And we have a manager who demands a very high work rate.

Sorry, but your post is a bit silly.

I just don't think we're that type of club anymore. More forward thinking than nostalgic. Take away our current form/injuries and this is a ludicrous idea.

I'm not saying that we should sign him to be our main striker. Cause yes, that would be stupid. But wouldn't he be useful from time to time? I can see him scoring winning goal against Sunderland in 90min after coming from the bench. This could be new challenge for him.

But in moments like this when there are injuries and shit form this makes more sense. As I said, nothing to lose, possible benefits.

You don't paper over cracks. You fix the cracks.

I could see him fitting with our philosophy of an energetic press, intensity and 12 km run per match. Sounds right up Berbatov's alley

I think we should bring back Van der Vaart too. And Klinsmann could do a job still I reckon. Yeah. Van der Vaart and Klinsmann would sort us right out (y)
