your point being?

He hasn't scored in the last 10 minutes, therefore he is shit. Or if he has (which I think he has) then he is the best player ever. We aren't fickle, just "Fick".

My mistake, and it doesnt matter what he has done in other games, its only his last game he gets judged on anyway, and he didnt play in the last game so he must be shit!

That is the corrrect way to judge a player on here isnt it?

The freekick against West Ham in the 4-3 last season must have been pretty late on. Seems a pointless question aimed at suggesting he isn't that important to us because he doesn't score many in the last 10 minutes, which is ludicrous.

Oh, the 6-4 against reading too, he does score goals in the last 10 minutes of games, so he's defo shit hot.

Well, according to some on this site you judge strikers by assists, Full backs by assists, centre backs by goals, wingers by tackles, and midfielders by goals. So really you could argue that most people here are just retards.

How about his free-kick in the West ham game last season to make it 3-3? It was in the 88th minute i think, just before Stalteri went and made it 4-3!

so in conclusion, he's scored quite a few.

Let's not forget that Spurs are renknowned for not playing beyond 75 minutes

Just to go off topic slightly....

I was thinking of the possibilty of The Liverpool game being Berbatov's last in our shirt, this brought back memories to me of being a school boy in the 90's and catching the 237 bus down to Loftus road with 2 of my mates to watch Klinsmann in his last game.

Then like with now (with Berbs) everyone was expecting Klinsmann to leave but hoping he would stay (My friend and I even skipped school to go to a signing for Klinsmann and asked him not to go....worked well)

The knock on effect was our club's manangent took on a transfer policy of 'no johnny foreigners' (or carlos kick a ball whatever it was) and we missed out on signing some great players (ala Bergkamp) and went on to waste tens of millions on players the likes of Rule Fox, Chris Armstrong, Sinton (etc etc) which left us wallowing between a rock and a hard place for years.

Berbatov is surely the biggest and brightest foreign import we have had at the club since Klinsmann and he has captured the hearts and imagionation of the clubs supporters in a similar fashion (with stunning goals and mesmerising play), his loss would be a hard pill to swallow.

The big differnce this time is (finally) im sure we have a management set up in place that will move on regardless and not cut off our nose to spite our face (say what you want about DL he does have a vision and moves towards it) Ramos Im sure is the right man to move us forward and this time we will emerge a stronger unit (I have said this over and over) with or without Berbatov I believe.

Im excited about the summers transfer window as I think we will bring in some good players, yes the Berbatov situation is going to be tough (but I think this time we as fans are more prepared for his departure then we were with Klinsmann)

Sorry to have gone so off track, but its was something I was thinking and I didn't want to waste space starting another trivolous Berbatov thread (like this one ;) )

I agree with you and there's some rep on the way.

Luckily from our point of view, we have big bucks available, european football available, a respected manager and some other excellent players in the squad/coming through.

We relied heavily on Klinsmann, as we do Berbatov, but the difference is, we're geared up to be able to cope with the loss imo.

Much the same as United fans were worried when goal machine Ruud left - there were others to step into the breach. While I don't claim for our players to be as good as the United ones who were waiting in the wings, they're certainly capable of doing much better than this season and possibly the season before (where I think we 'nicked' 5th, when we were 8th or 9th 3 weeks earlier)

Pompey away this season? That was getting on.

Basically, the rule is: Berbatov never scores late in games, apart from the games when he does.

I'm pretty sure the free-kick against wet spam was in the 89th minute. That was my 2nd favorite late goal ever.

Stalteri takes the cake.

I'm pretty sure that means we should sell Berbs, get Satly back from loan and stick him up front.

I still think his goal against Leicester in the cup was one of our most blinding shots in the last couple years.
