I know it's all part of the media circus, and I know it's all part of the hype-game, but honestly, could this complete WANKER of a footballer try any harder to be so disrespectful?

<<From SkySports:

Berba - United worth the wait
Red Devils record capture delighted to join United

Dimitar Berbatov believes securing his move to Manchester United made his nightmare of an August a worthwhile experience.

The Bulgaria international made just one substitute appearance for Spurs at the start of the season in their 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough before being axed by manager Juande Ramos.

After two successful seasons at White Hart Lane the former Bayer Leverkusen ace found himself kicking his heels on the sidelines and the focal point for many Spurs fans to vent their frustrations.

Although the pressure on Berbatov's shoulders increased, he believes the negative experience was worth the anguish following his £30.75million deadline day switch to The Red Devils.

"Sometimes most of the people don't realise or see how the pressure can get to a player," he explained.

"In this transfer window it was really difficult for me, but in the end when things end well you can look back and see how it was for me, for my manager, for the club who tried to sign me and I think it was worth waiting for that transfer.">>

Now hang on...he mentions how 'difficult' it was for him to single-handedly engineer his move to manure, he then mentions how 'difficult' it was for him, for Ferguson, for Man Utd...not a MENTION of Spurs, not a MENTION of how his total disrespect fucked with his teammates, not a MENTION of how 'difficult' his ****ish behavior was for Tottenham Hotspur...

To me he is one of the most loathesome ex-Spurs players I can think of, and though I genuinely do not wish harm on other players, if I heard he'd been crocked for 6 months-plus, I'm ever so sorry to say I would have to crack a broad grin.

'The new Cantona'? Not a hope. He hasn't got balls even half the size of Cantona's, and watch how he'll duck and run when the going gets tough. He is going to get fucking slaughtered when visits the Lane, and guess what, Mr. Sensitive Fucking Emotional 'My Life Is Difficult as an Artiste' guy is going to crumble.

Rant over. Feel free to join in!!!!

I know mate, and believe me, I'm trying to (I actually wanted us to sell him in July and get Arshavin done) but it's the disrespect which continues to get me...

You're right about the reception he would get (& rightly so!) & for that reason i doubt Man U will play him at WHL - for this season at least. They will be aware of the treatment Campbell gets & also be aware that its unlikely Berbatov will relish that atmophere

Believe it or not, being a spurs fan, any berbatov story will be looked at with a hint of pessimism and bitterness towards the player.

In my eyes, Berbatov is just another player who wants to play CL football and win trophies as he is coming to the business end of his career, clearly he cannot achieve these ambitions at spurs.

To be honest, a player of his quality and skill SHOULD be playing at the top, and lets face it, we are not quite their.

He never publically came out and said he didnt want to play for spurs as many spurs fans will have you believe, and he never said a bad word about us.

Yeah, I dont hate him, and although Its never nice to lose a player of his quality, the fact we recieved £30 million makes up for his departure to some extent.

I'm a little upset he's not mentioned us. He can mention the CLub and the fans without having to mention the board or the manager. Other than that though the stuff he's sasying is understandbly pro utd and fergie.

He now has to prove himself at the very highest level - all the pressure is on him

Robbie's been poor since his transfer to L'pool

Possibly the new Shevchenko and Rebrov - great together but only one was any good after they moved on

Time will tell

And we have to move on - things change

In the cold light of day, Sol Campbell (IMO) departed Spurs in a much better way than Berbatov. S Campbell served his contract and gave the club good service, his big mistake was to join Ar5ena1. If he'd moved abroad or to a less rival club, I'm convinced S Campbell would be remember in a better way instead of the way we continue to remember him.

Grrrr. Oh ok.

Here's my tuppeny's worth.

It's a Sky Sports news story. Bigging up the news of the day. Berbatov will be making his debut on a Sky viewing match tomorrow. Big news. So they post a Berbatov soundbite.

That soundbite will be all about Berbatov and the way ahead, all about his new shirt and his aspirations.

If Spurs TV ever got the opportunity at some point in the future to interview the poor soul, wed get the spin that it was with a heavy heart that he left THFC, to fulfil his personal ambitions with a club more likely to provide the platform to do so.

Sky are not likely to spin that part or give him an opportunity to say thanks to Spurs because he is a Manchester United player and because they want him to be their story this weekend, not Spurs.

My Manchester United loving friend keeps taunting me with this:

:(

After he sent me this picture of some strange looking creature:

Edit: Sorry, but we don't have permission to display Getty Images

Related in some homo-erotic way I'm sure; How do females find that thing attractive? Someone explain? :p

Wouldn't it be all the more beautiful to smash them at Old Trafford, we always give them a good game there :) As for the article, just typical crap clubs put out to the press, who cares, for us he is old news now.

lol, somehow I can't see Alex Ferguson dropping his £30m star signing for a match because he might get a tough reception......just not his style.

Who is this ber-ba-tov you speak of?

The guy in your avatar that doesn't play for Spurs anymore. He's hugging another guy who doesn't play for Spurs anymore.

Now that's just silly talk.

l cant believe he is gone. Amazing talented gifted player.

I liked his mopey attitude.

Sigh. We get to see him play in a big game. I'll be watching.

At least him signing means Arsenal or Chelsea will have a harder time winning the title.

Well said. Not playing for us at the end was a let down but he was always going to go this summer and he does deserve to play at the top. Hope he bangs in a hat trick and against the Scum and Chelscum. He's left me with more great memories than bad ones.

I wasn't going to reply to this thread, cos like PT, I've moved on, but Steff, you've swallowed the Sky interpretation hook, line and sinker! Really, I'm surprised at you.

For a start he never mentioned Ferguson, by "Manager" he's referring to his Agent.
He answered the questions that were asked of him at the press conference, I suggest you watch the BBC website video of more or less the whole thing to get a proper perspective of what he said, though I doubt you'd appreciate it even then. You make it sound like he's totally up his own arse, when all he is is an excited footballer from Bulgaria having just joined one of the 2 biggest teams in the world. Quelle surprise, he had no loyalty to us, why so shocked?

Thank Gawd for the 2 balanced posts from Rackybear and Colonel_Klinck in this thread or I'd have really started to lose my marbles, especially after that post about Campbell. Talk about re-writing history! Un-be-liev-able! Simple fact for the poster: We lost out on 15 mill selling Campbell to MU cos he promised he'd sign a new contract and stay. Berbatov never once said he had any intentions of staying if we did not qf for the CL, we got 20 mill profit on him and yet he's the biggest bastard in our 126 year history.
Nice, some people are.....or just plain thick, I can't work it out.

Levy makes me sick with his petty attitude. Keano makes me sick, because he was a vice-skipper and still left us. berbatov...he was never one of us and he said a year ago he will stay if we play in CL. Why blaming him? We made almost 20 millions. Why to be sick by him? Levy could have sold him for less and buy another player. Now I am not sure we will play in EPL next season. sad.
