Yep Actim rate Berbs as Spurs best player this season, catching up with what Berbati and I (and quite a few others have been telling this board for months) ;-)

Now come on Flatters & Co - just capitulate :) repeat after me - Berbs is our best player, Berbs is player of the season - go on it won't hurt, promise :)

Incidentally Berbs is 15th overall, but if they included Cup games he'd be top 10 no danger

With lots of good attacking talent at this club, Berbs is the best.

Toss up between him and King for most important player.

But Best player..... Berbs easy

And according to ACTIM Adebayour's better than Ronaldo, lol.

Yes and he's 10 points ahead of Keane, which is about 1 game's worth of points. I don't know for sure, but DB has probably played more games too....

I'm not trying to argue who is best, just putting it into perspective.

I love Berba, so much so that our dog is named Dimi after him.

Those who make the Actim Index assign much more significance to scoring goals than to assisting for goals. Otherwise, Berba wouldn't be far behind Adebayor, Ronaldo and Torres who taken together (!!!) have as much (or even less) assists as Berbatov. In terms of "goals plus assists" Berba is in top 6, no question. Besides, the strikers above him work generally with better midfielders.

Berbs is quality and I would say our player of the season, but I hate Actim, it tells you nothing. If you want to use that to prove to me that Titus Bramble has had a better season than Steed go for it.

Or, comparing like with like, that Bumble has been marginally better than Touré. Eek

It's more believable than that nonsense the Times concocted last season, mainly, I suspect (in my paranoid fashion) to piss us off by claiming it had 'proved' Robbo was the worst player in the EPL, but it's still far from perfect; it has in the past been necessary to make 'adjustments' in order to correct anomalies.

Toure and Drogba missed too many games. This explains why they are placed so low, Drogba is out of top 100.

I understood that the system is supposed to compensate for that.

That's impossible as points are given for performances in played games. More games, more points. If, say, Drogba plays in only 15 games and scores in each of them 1-2 goals, he still would finish out of top 15 imo.

Yes, I know. The more minutes on the pitch, the higher the score, and one of the parameters is how much a player has contributed to his own team, regardless of whether his team is Derby or United, in order to avoid a bias towards the top sides. Bumble has played the equivalent of just three games more than Touré this season, but whilst he may have been one of their most effective players (which wouldn't be saying a great deal), the ranking would suggest that he is a better CB than Touré—and anyone who believes that needs sectioning.

If Drogba had played 15 games and scored 1-2 goals in each he'd be one of the top scorers in the league, and I daresay well into the top 15, because in that event Chelsea would be right up there in the title race instead of tagging along behind Arsenal and United.

It's a system that needs a lot of fine-tuning yet to be really valuable. And do we really need it to prove that Berbatov is, with King, our best player, with Keane a little way behind?

I find it more interesting that the next best Spurs player is Chimbo ranked 40, and JJ is 4th at 70. I am sure Carl will have something to say about that.
