We won't need many chants tomorrow. 90 mins of John Terrys mum being a thief, "Spurs fans" beating up his Dad, his Dad being a drug dealer and him being a racist should probably do it. And a few renditions of Oh Ledley Ledley. One of our better chants!

Last year's taunting of Terry was one of my highlights of the season.

I love the "John Terry, your mum's a thief" song.

I remember after the game he stared down the south stand as about 5,000 people sung "Terry, you're a c**t" at him.

Stirring stuff!

Yeah, that was brilliant. The Chelsea players all going over to clap their fans and Terry was just staring at The South whilst gobbing and pretending to hold a trophy with The South and Shelf chanting he's a ****. Brilliant!

He won't be suspended if it comes out today, same as the Suarez one, he will have 14 days to appeal, which they probably will delay til the end and follow Liverpool's route.

Your father is a dealer, your mother is a stealer, you're a racist cheater, the Terry family... da da da da!

I would love another rendition of our favourite Sol chant!

Terry wherever you may be, Fuck off out of our country, we all know that you're guilty, You racist c**t (and your mums a thief).

Surely someone can do better than that though!

Like others, i think that there are a number of reasons for less singing and atmos at the lane

1. Changing fan base (more women, kids etc)

2. Raised expectations, definitely easier to sing and 'entertain yourself' when the team is sh1t, but now we aren't, so we wait to be entertained

3. Surprised no one has mentioned this, is the closing down of many of the pubs around the ground. Back in the day when the bank/cockerel/British Queen etc were open and/or at their pomp, the fans were singing happily for hours prior to the game and then this would continue at the game. Nowadays in the boozer you can have a clear, coherent convo because there isn't the singing and 'buzz' leading up to KO

Just my opinion anyway, really hope the atmos tomoro nite is similar to the 2002 league cup semi against the Chavs, as that night - before, during and after the game, Tottenham was rocking!

I agree about the average age of fans attending the lane it must be between 33-53....A serious concern really the Club should be looking into instead of thinking about the pound note short term view we need more youth attending the lane and wearing Spurs tops.

Not wanting to criticise or nay-say anyone who knows better than me...but would it be possible to get reasonably accurate stats, rather than a collection of impressions, before panicking

It's blatantly obvious mate. You only have to look around the ground. There are honestly very few lads between the age of say 16 to 28. (the age I know I was my most vociferous!

The reasons for this are pretty obvious and Spurs aren't the only club with this problem.

If you reread my post you will see that nowhere did I accept that it was blatantly obvious and nowhere did I refute that it was baltantly obvious. I simply said it would be nice to get some stats on the subject - and stats from other clubs, too, for comparison.

Sorry mate. Misread your post. I agree it would be interesting and reckon it would be a bit of an eye opener to see some actual stats.

TBH, I think one of the factors is that for my generation, going to football was almost an automatic for Saturdays. Now, kids just have so many things to occupy their time that they must have to actively seek it, rather than falling into it because their Dads took them, and then their brother(s)/mates went - which is how it was for me.

I'd concur that whenever I've been to the Lane my fellow Yids have been older than I have been, or at least around my age (I'm early 30s).

I like to make some noise, don't get me wrong. But I agree, the younger element could be what we're missing I guess.

Being priced out of going to games is probably the issue?
